GWEN.. A time for Heros mission/quest

OK here is something that is bafling everyone i ask .. I have beatin GWEN with my Warrior.. I would like to repeat this mission but when I go to HoM and click on the scrying pool and then the guidance tab the quest isnt listed..
I need some help please cause this mystery is driving me nuts

Go to the central transfer chamber and talk to alkar. As to why it isn't listed, no idea, maybe it was never listed in the scrying pool since it's the last quest.

I tried that when i was with my guildies in party to help out the preist said I was ready to go in ...

As soon as you go in, you will atomatically take up the quest.

Not 100% sure, but maybe the scrying pool only lists quests that are not "repeatable". That is, the quests you only get from an NPC once, when they have the ! above their head. Repeatable quests/missions, such as A Time For Heroes, can be gotten anytime, without needing the scrying pool.

If you got to guildwiki A time for heros is repeatable and it tells you to go to the pool to get it but for me its not there lol

I amongst a few others are having this issue as well.
I have even completed one of the slaver's dungeons, so that idicates I have end gamed and done all of the required primary quests.

Same goes for Destruction's Depth and HoS having trouble with those too.

This really needs fixing.

i used to go to the scrying pool after completing a book but ive done so many handbooks that i just know what missions to do and it fills them in automatically w/o having to actually have the primary quest listed

Ok so how can i get back in without going through all those missions again any ideas

Didn't you already say that Alkar gave you the option to go in?

Edit, btw, did you get Droknar's Key when you first did it? If not, maybe the scrying pool doesn't know you've done it.

Think that was when he first redid it..then no more.


when I did it it gave me the Droknar's key but i did not use it, could that be it?
and now I cant get back in to use it. anyways, I have gotten one of my guildmates to use it for me.

Just for grins I'll go check on this.... I know I've repeated it before, but I'm not sure what way I did it...

Okay, I just went to the Scrying Pool in the HoM and "A Time For Heroes" was on the list (under "I Seek Guidance"). I didn't take the quest, but went to the Central Transfer Station to talk to High Priest Alkar. He popped up a box that said "We plan to meet the Great Destroyer head on.", which then lead to a "are you ready" type thing, and then I entered the mission (and then /resigned - I've done it often enough )

I don't know why ATFH doesn't show up at the scrying pool for some people. Maybe it has to do with using the key, or maybe you have to hand in a Hero's Handbook - I've done both.

The only other thing I can think of is that maybe the OP went to see Alkar in Battledepths instead of the Central Transfer Station.

I went everywhere possible but no luck i hate this crap

If you have Prophecies, locate Yak's Bend and then look North of there. You should see a place called the Central Transfer Station.

If you don't have Prophecies, find the Eye of the North, below that is Boreal Station, keep looking further down from there and you should soon see the Central Transfer Station.

Enter that city and find the Priest Alkar (he should be at the bottom of the stairs in the middle of the room. Talk to him and he should give you the option to do A Time for Heroes.

At the top of that page is a listing of the Primary Quests that make up the handbook. Clicking on the name of th quest you want to do should take you to a page that lists all the steps of the quest. I believe doing the first quest will activate the quest and upon completion, you will have the appropriate entry for your book.

For example, for A Time for Heroes it says, "The Great Destroyer awaits you outside the Central Transfer Chamber. Speak to High Priest Alkar to commence the attack." And for Curse of the Nornbear, it says "Speak to Sif in Sifhalla to begin the hunt." Doing each action (speaking to Alkar or Sif) will port you into the primary quest area.

Just to clarify I have already beatin Eye of the North.. I want to redo the mission but it's not listed in the Hall of Monuments under guidance .. And I talk to the Priest in Central Transfer Chamber and he won't let me in ...

Ok, that's just bizarre then. I just checked both the priest and the scrying pool and they both work for me.

Have you tried doing Destruction's Depths to see if that will unlock the final mission for you again?

I have done A Time for Heroes a number of times and always just talk to the Priest since first completing the expansion with no problems.

If nothing else seems to be working for you, I would suggest contacting support.

Just to eliminate some of the obvious - are you trying to redo the mission with your warrior, or some other character?

I am trying to redo it with my warrior.. still no luck in finding an answer .. Even the folks that made the game give me some crappy solution ..

A friend of mine had the exact same issue, we even wrote to support, but the final answer was that there is no fix for this problem yet. Maybe if it shows up as not only an isolated problem we can hope for a fix
