Fair play Kane, it's nice to see you getting in the festive spirit. I've only recently started posting but i've been reading this forum for well over a year and a half and some of your posts have cracked me up others have had a opposite affect.

After arriving in Old Ascalon last night I was overcome by the Wintersday Spirit.
I just started asking for low lvl Rangers to pm me for a Wintersday gift. Gave away 3 nice grape bows and several bow grips and strings to several 6th lvl's and a couple 7th lvl Rangers. Gonna try and do this every day of Wintersday.
Maybe I'll build up some "Good"Karma for a change.

This way I try and ensure that I give stuff to people who really need it.

I tend to be sarcastic, obnoxious and downright rude. I've insulted Gaile, Andrew and God knows who else. (Have some regrets, but come on, you've GOT to have thick skin to come in here.) *Waves to Gaile. It's just a release...it's fun (and funny) to see reactions to some of my posts, no harm intended. But, whatever. In game, I tend to be more "me". I give free runs, good advice, help on missions and quests, point newbies in the right direction, etc.Usually before Wintersday, I stock up on Green weapons to give away to some lower level people (yes, I pay attention and try and determine if they're new). I've actually gotten flamed for giving away some really nice stuff, (called a n00b for giving away a 40k bow to someone I THOUGHT was cool), but those are few and far between. Occasionally, I'll send an Ale out to someone I'm bs'ing with waiting for Dwayna or Grenth. Was just wondering what other people did for their good deeds on Wintersday. Happy Whatever You Celebrate at this time of year! KANE EDIT: Let's make this clear. I'm not talking about Christmas, or whatever you personally celebrate in real life. This is a GW only thread.... and I should have said, "during the wintersday event". |
So... I gave away about eight minipets (undedicated) to new players last weekend. But let's face it... they're hard to sell any more and they take up space. So how generous was that really? This weekend if I have any time to spend in game, I'll give away some golds and greens to new players. Again, they're just taking up space. And yes, I have a way of determining if players are new, although I can be fooled from time to time. And if I am, I don't sweat it. It's the guy trying to scam me that's going to be hurting in the long run, not me... as long as I stick to my own principles.
Happy Wintersday Kane! Happy Wintersday to everyone everywhere!

Well I'm a total noob to the game, (Don't the let the Lvl 20 fool ya, I was powerlvled by my Guild mates.) but I have some bowgrips and bowstrings I'll try to give away to some noobs in Ascalon City. I can't wait to actually experience Wintersday for the first time. I was on when they redecorated the towns, but won't be home tonight until after all the festivities get underway. I'm also trying to figure out what I can get my Guild mates for the holiday. (One of my mates gave me 20k last night. I tried to protest, but knew in the end he would let up.) So here's to seeing you guys around the towns.
I'm usually on-line playing at some point in the day when the real presents, dinner and time with the family is spent. This year the Guild is hosting a christmas party for the members during which we have games planned, presents to give and prizes to be awarded. It's nice to see others in the holiday spirit.
It's hard to be nice when everyone is going "HOW I GOT HAT?!1/!?".

but anyways...Hmm...I helped a bunch of new people on Shing Jea, from locating _____ to Zen Daijun, if that counts.
And I gave my first obsidian drop to a stranger who was going for FoW armor.Still doesn't change the fact that I think FoW armor looks hideous.
