Elona free chests / do not touch etc never reset?

Is anyone else finding that the chests etc in Elona are always empty??

I mainly play a warrior who's played through all the campaigns and now nearly completed all the side missions in Normal mode. I've started some hard mode missions, but tend to support my guildies in missions with the aim that we are all at the same place in the game and can work through hard mode together.

A number of them have had the chests etc in Elona reset a couple of times and have been able to reopen with their main and other characters.

However, mine have only reset once and that was back in Feburary. I try each time one of them say they have reset, but they never have.

I know people have theories about how they reset and i've looked into that, but what i am wondering is if anyone else has had the same issue as me or if i have a bug somewhere?

(note - i know you can make as much cash in an evening from farming etc but free stuff is always nice!)

Well I always wait at least 1 month before reopening them, and it has been working all the time (I open them only with one char though).

Now that you made me think of, it's time again to get my free stuff gift.

Apparently you need to wait about 4-6 weeks for delivery. I'm thinking the treasure hiders get their prizes vis UPS.

That's the theory I believe in, anyway.

Its Been 2 months for my ele and it still hasn't reset I wish Anet would acutally make them work on a set schedual.


Also does anyone know if you touch do they reset the time there even if they were empty

My main character has only had the chests reset once, but any other character can open them again after ~1 month. :\

YEh i noticed it varies Nec had ~ 4-5months For reset but most do 1-2months..
but yeah too lazy open em anymore

I only get purples on my main character for opening them all now, but i've re-opened them about 8 times already with golds.

are you sure you are waiting a full month? Each time you try to re-open they get reset even if it was empty so if you open in 28 days and it is mty then it will reset for another 30

they reset for me every 4 weeks or so

I think the more you have opened them, the longer the reset time is. My main char, my warrior, has hit them 4 times I think, and it was months of me checking and couldn't get them. Much later, while vanquishing, I hit them again, and they were reset. The thing is, after the 2nd time, it appears they all will always give grapes (and the occasional ruby/diamond/sapph), and the reduced gold drop. It's not really worth the effort after the 2nd time, unless you just happen to be there.

After a few rounds of chest runs every 1-2 months it's all grapes and small amounts of gold anyway. Maybe as an xmas present anet could reset them back to their original state, hint hint

I had the same problem with my Mesmer. I'd check a chest every 2-3 weeks and they didn't reset. I finally stopped checking and about 1-1/2 month after I checked, they were reset again. I waited another 30 days or so and they had reset again.

My advice is: Don't check even one chest/treasure for at least 30 days. That should get you going. Also, it appears that the longer you wait between raiding the chests, the better the drops are, to a certian extent.

ALL my chars chests reset EXCEPT my Ele's.. for some reason, after 4 months, they just wont.

Brianna, I had a similar problem. My main char, Necro, did not get the chests reset for over 3-4 months, too. All others had exact 4 weeks/1 month reset periods.

Do not give up hope, I finally got some purples...^^ - chests give less each new run you do. Vabbi and Torment luckily often give gems, that do not seem to be affected by the deteriorating drop quality.

you have to wait 30 days for them to reset I know this because I have opened them 1 time every 30 days with each of my chars since they came out. and if you try to open 1 to soon they ALL RESET for another 30 days. Next time you want to open these do it and wright the exact date and time down on a piece of paper you will not lose.

I always forget to check the free treasures.(keyless chests, w/e it is called)

Every time you clicked them in that time frame they RESET for ALL chests for (-30-) days, if you wait 29 days and try to open them they will reset for another 30 days, you have to wait 30 days each time wait 31 days just to besure if you do not rember the exact date you opened them the first time.

I think it has to do with play time. What's highly annoying to me is that for some reason all they drop now are purples. How the hell am I going to advance my wisdom title with nothing but purples?

I've been opening mine on a pretty regular basis with five of my characters. You can open them every month, but it has to be exactly one month, and if you try and open any one of them before they have reset, you'll have to wait another 30 days. Just be patient.

Unfortunately, the more you open them, the worse the drops get. After three or four times it isn't really worth doing.

I'll second that, spot on. I wait 32 days usually, and I have a little text file with the last opened date on them. They do get worse, but I still do them anyway as it's a little bit of guaranteed cash when I'm bored.

Also worth noting, if you farm the early chests too much before you get to the higher reward chests by the time you get to them they spit out junk. I opened teh Domain of Pain chest on my ranger yesterday, she'd never been there before and she got 700 gold and a crap purple instead of the 2/3 plat + a gold.
