Wintersday 2007

It's here, first observations are quite negative:

It's exactly like last year aside from some new (uninteresting for my kind) pve quests. There's no dragon arena, this is perhaps expected, but still extremely sad and dumb. Now people have time to play gw (see iB returning to gw) and it would be an extremely smart and effective move to give some life to pvp by adding the dodgebal these weeks. But no.
Also there is no rollerbeetle racing, no alliancebattlethingy, and no shing jae boardwalk.

So we're still stuck with snowball fights, which are quite cool at the start, but gets boring really quick (i played many hours last years) due to its HUUGE balance flaws that would get solved with an hour of programming.

Your teammates are retarded to an epic level. But when you do find a good teammate you'll defeat everyone untill you're grenth and all your packages explode. Annoying retarded bad luck that has NOTHING to seek in pvp, not even as casual as this.
Because of this, even IF you have 2 equal teams against each other, it will end up in about 5-1 for dwayna as they have an insane advantage, this means truely epic snowball fights are simply impossible.

I remember last year my 40streak ended 5-4 by 1 of our members leaving (so it was 3v4), having 8 exploding packages in a row, and being grenth. If we'd only have 7 packages exploding or been dwayna it would've been easy victory, but shit like that ALWAYS happens.

Of course all of this is old news, it's been stated many times last year, and the year before, but it's amazing how Anet refuses to fix such a VERY simple and basic issue.

I think packages explode regardless of god...

Snowball arena is serious business.

I hope they don't add the dragon-"who has the best bot script?"-arena ever again. Last event was infested with follow bots.

This thread is epic in failure, and is a great source of afternoon lol before heading home for work.

Furthermore, I don't see anything different from being Dwayna or Grenth in snowball battles, it's kinda the same. No epic battles? Today I've played Snowball quite a lot, and 4/5 times I got into a very good team. People knew what to do and when to do it; moreover, the other team were kinda always hard to beat. Many times finished on 4-5, 5-4. There have been flawless victories ofc, but not as many as last years. And I just love wintersday, and hate beetles, and hate dragon arena, and it's wintersday, it's not another damn event so...yea.

If you want to go cry, then go to your room and shut the blinds.

Learn to read you twit. I said it might be logical in an RP sense to not add dragon arena, but it would be an incredible smart marketing and monetary move to do so.

and agreed on the close thread... to the OP.... if you don't like the winstersday activities that ANET gives to us because they want to... you can maybe turn your computer off... go play a different game, or go to sleep? It really gets old very fast the people that MUST complain about absolutely everything. I'm just glad they give us these days of something different to do. I've done the quests 2 years in a row, and this is year number 3. Thank You ANET!!!

LOL... hey yeah... smart marketing move. If they have Wintersday in Factions too, then someone who only has Factions wouldn't have to buy Prophecies or NF as well to enjoy Wintersday, and then NCSoft wouldn't have to make a profit from that sale. Why didn't *I* think of that. *slapping forehead*

No, your wrong, what he did was come on here and post a thread whineing about what ISN'T in the festival, and then proposed changes to the snowball arena because he can't win. I play it near constantly and it is easy to win as grenth, just takes a bit of skill
