GW:EN drop rates

I went out into 3 separate areas & lost 13 picks on chests. One decent Req 9 ornate scythe, 15^50 insc., Armor +10 vs earth. I killed more than 1000 enemies!! Not one dropped a gold item or green. I got 1 purple item from a monster, alot of purples from the chests. Holy crap. That's crap. Before you say 1000 enemies in 3 areas is impossible, I hit 2 areas more than once.

Sounds reasonable if you were using heroes and henchies. If you weren't, I suppose you're just unlucky - I farm Cathedral of Flames and yield 10~ golds on average a run.

After vanquishing nearly every area in GWEN (only charr homelands left) I am the not-so-proud owner of 5 crap gold drops. With chests I think it's about 10 or so

Wel... you need to consider that at chests you can get any skin you can at that area (lets say 30 skins?), with any requirements (9-13), with any inscription available (about 10) at any high parameter (19-20 or 9-10).
So dont expect to get a nice skin AND req9 AND a perfect insignea AND 2 perfect upgrades. In other words: An Elemental Sword req9 15^50 20/20 +30And you didint killed that many monsters

/agreed the drops do seem to be a tad brutal.

I am also doing vanquish in Gwen and out of last 4 areas 1 gold drop (old pvp longbow skin GG) no greens or elite tomes (wont even talk about lockpicks breaking .. I am rank 7 treasure 6 wisdom 5 lucky and breaking 90%). Vanquish is boring enough do they have to throw farm code at us as well.

i got one lockpick in vloxen excavations... 9 purples from it i had 51% retention rate.....
