Did a 2 hour farming run in UW and then, because I was so tired, sold all the ecto's I had accumulated to the merchant along with a gold weapon that dropped.

Also.. when I was relatively new to GW and had just arrived at THK. I was wielding a FDS because I thought it was so damn elite and while we we're defending the fortress a FDS dropped for someone else. I noticed that it was higher damage than mine (15-21 instead of something aweful) and begged the person to give it to me. It was white and had no dmg mod.. so yeah I looked like a real n00b.

I made a monk (my second character) in pre and when I got to Surmia mission and joined a group they all thought I was a healer. Of course I wasn't.. I used firestorm and spammed flare Ya, well they told me to re-roll my character as an elementalist if I wanted to nuke.. I eventually did re-roll as an ele when Factions was released.

AWWWW I adore myself!!
That reminds me of the first time I left pre.. I litterally ran around for one hours (as a level 5 warrior) trying to find an outpost. I was scared by the size of the map also. The worst part is that while I was fighting my way to an outpost (not knowing that I could map travel) I died and I thought that the death penalty would never go away. I was so pissed off I closed GW. When I logged back in I was in Ascalon City and I was quite satisfied that the DP was gone...

Haha, the good old days when I had to idea at all what I was doing!

The only thing i ever did when i was a newb was selling dye's to the merchant. In pre and in post and like 3 months later i realized there was a trader, and they pay more than 1g.

to think of how many black and sliver dye's i sold to the merchant

I was confused as to why my guildies were 'farming' in the 'desert'. Kryta obviously has better soil.

Deleted my very first character - a warrior - at lv4, in post, after dying. I had never realized the game had henchmen.

Dyed my necro's starter armor silver, blue, green and purple. And while reading local chats and such, I found out silver was worth quite a lot.

Made my way through Prophecies as a N/E with Firestorm and Phoenix, along with other necro skills. Not sure I used Soul Reaping O_o. I had a fire wand and offhand for a long while.

Its acctually got a funny story to it this pic, the guy whose name i coverd offerd me a run to lions from yaks bend for some crappy shield i had, not soon after this screen he left xD. I said id report him and he came crawing back with the shield.

I guess im a little better now
Ok, ok. I gotta ask. Why on earth would an Assassin need a run to LA from Yak's Bend???????????

My dumbest thing? Hmm I wasn't too bad since I've played RPG's all my life. My biggest hurdle was learning the acronyms and nuances of the game.

I once asked what does MM and SS mean. (While playing a Level 20 Necromancer in a pug! Ouch!)

Factions was my first game and every time a Necro joined our pugs they were always asked the same question: "Do you have a flesh golem? What level?" I didn't know what that meant, but at the time I only had experience playing an Assassin and a Ranger so I assumed a Flesh golem was necro pet that would tag along with the group and was really really good to have.

Flash forward a few weeks and I finally make it past Minister Cho's estate and discover the lagoon area and the Afflicted. These guys drop "augmented flesh". I put 2 and 2 together and got 5. So that's where Flesh golems come from! I bet I need to collect a bunch of these to give to a collector someplace and presto I'll be able to make a flesh golem!!!

I hoarded those stupid augmented fleshes for weeks until I figured it out.

i think that the dumbest thing that ive done was when, i created my first warrior, i was a wammo and one day, i got into an uw group (before 55 even existed), and we managed to get to the Horsemen area, the problem was that i was dying every 2 groups or so, and then i started to read my skill descriptions for some reason and saw : Frenzy : you attack 33% faster but you take double damage....yup...i didnt know frenzy caused 2x damage xDDD hahaa

I bought a customised Fiery Dragon sword for 2k.
I'm glad they added in the warning, to prevent new players missing details like that.

My first character was an assassin. I do believe that's the worst mistake I've ever made.

I used to run flare on my ele for a long time in the beginning, just because it was spammable and I felt like I was accomplishing something.

I still feel like my ranger is a noob. I don't know if I'm doing it wrong or I'm just too used to playing ele

I've also sold a couple of things I didn't mean to (wait, where did that +30 shield go... damnit).

And I'm still semi-afraid to go PvP because I haven't really done it before and don't like getting bitched at for sucking lol

I didn't know how to salvage runes from armour. I lost superior vigors when they were around 90k. Back then, I was fighting for money to get max armour.

What's with all the flare hate? Starting a brand new fire elementalist with no unlocks in prophecies, there isn't much else to take. Everything else has considerable cooldowns, what else are you gonna do while you wait? Spam flare, clearly.

It also has pretty good minimum damage compared to a lot of other spells, making it decent at low attribute levels. Fireballing a single enemy for the same damage damage as flare would have done at twice the mana cost and then autoattacking with your staff for 7 seconds (while throwing in a meteor/firestorm every half minute) really doesn't seem as effective in comparison. AoE damage is pretty poor in Ascalon anyways, there's rarely more than 2 mobs together at once, while plenty of them keep a healthy distance between each other since they're so few in numbers.

I don't support anyone who's level 20 with a decent amount of skill unlocks using flare, however.

I didn't realize henchmen existed and I made a trip from Ascalon City through Regent Valley and arrived at Fort Ranik. I didn't know where I was going but the monsters were giving me a hard time. I thought henchmen were people as well since at the time they had full names such as "Alesia Baptiste." I soon learned otherwise.
