Hmm I remember a necromancer in Barradin's Estate offering me seven starter swords for all of my dyes. I figured the dyes were worth only one gold each, and swords would at least be useful to me.

when i started with playing i had a necro and my build was absolute crap
didn't use soul reaping
also
i still had starter armor from the very beginning
i got tired of playing gw cuz of dying all the time until my friend said i had to buy new max armor so i would stop dying all the time
that's when i bought ascalon necro armor wich was the most uglies piece of sh*t
after that i got my sh*t together and started saving for luxon elite armor
that was when i stopped acting noob

Tried to double up on runes and wondering why they didn't stack (on a warrior). Then on my first Necromancer, I ran a sup Curses and sup Death. Tried to so SS and MM at the same time. I was always dead, imagine that. No HP due to -150 from runes and only +30 from a minor vigor to offset that.

well, back at newb days I got a old school black dye in the stinger quest cave, and I remember I merched the dye black dye...I was like..wow.1g for a dye...
Shadowlance.
My first character was a warrior who I put a major rune of axe mastery on pretty early in his development. It was one of those old -50 major runes. It wasn't until after Nightfall was out that I realized major runes had been changed to -35. I felt pretty silly I'd been keeping that old -50 on him for so long.

My first character was a Ranger in Prophecies. I never used henchmen because I was so used to playing single-player games that I never even noticed them to begin with. I considered Great Northern Wall very hard (I was level 6 at the time) until someone asked me why I would solo that mission at the level I'm at.
Thus, this is how I discovered that henchmen were important.

the noobest thing i ever did, besides the fact of refusing help bc i was scared to be called a noob ^_^, had to be either never selling my thing to the merchant (so i just dropped them and picked up w/e dropped), or when ectos were 10k i traded a guy it for 10 gold but from that i learned to actually look at what his offer was lol... but i miss my noob days thats when the game was a lot of fun since everything was new to me.

So I have been playing for almost three years I have all the campaigns logged many hours of play time. But just last week I was bitten by the n00b bug.
I decided that I wanted a change of pace and that I would delete a char on my alt account and start over in presear and relive the good ol days of Tyria. I logged into the account picked the char to delete and deleted him. I created my new presear necro and was off and playing happily. About an hour later I thought oooh I have some cools stuff on another char that she could use here in presear.
By now you are all laughing knowing what I did. Thats right I picked the char to delete, yet didn't check his inventory first. I had not played that account in a while so I had forgot who was who and what stuff I had but what I remember having that must have been on the deleted char was;
2 Charr Bags
50+ dye of various color
collector materials
purple weapons from char farming
chocolate bunnies
I hung my head and a little voice in the back of my mind said "N00B!"

Not GW, still new to the game.
But, the first day I started WoW, I fell off of Teldrassil. Didn't think spirit rez, didn't even remember the tool tip about the hearth...I swam. After trying to recover my corpse four times.
If you know WoW, you know Teldrassil and how much of my time that took up.
I can't wait for the interactive world of GW2. I will be suicide jumping off of every cliff I can find again.

When I started HA I equipped my monk with glyph of concentation and restore life.
When I first used lightning surge, I took inspired hex to remove it off my foe so I could use it again.
I used to epidemic my conjure phantasm for a couple of weeks untill I learnt what conditions were.
The first time I sold something I also gave the buyer the amount of gold i was selling it for, thinking I was setting its price.
I merched my first ruby.

1) Got pwned repeatedly at Abaddon's Mouth then when somebody asked me if I was infused, I was like, "What's infusion?" Strangely enough, through both THK and Ring of Fire, I was never targeted by Spectral Agony.

I hadnt been playing too long when i got a gold bow drop. It was non max but it was my first gold. Interesting thing about a vampiric weapon is that the health degen of -1 that it lists turns out not to apply to your target. I had identified and equiped the weapon just before going into a fight. Imagine my surprise when after the fight was over i was degening. I ran around looking for the invisible mesmer or necro and couldnt figure out why the hex wasnt showing at teh top of my screen. Ah yes teh good old days when all was mystery : P

Back in Beta, your equipped weapon showed up in your inventory.
So while in pre-sear, I sold some stuff then found out I had sold my only weapon. Feeling lost on how to obtain a new sword, and since all my attribute points and skills obtained at that time where for sword, I decided to go the the Academy. I thought that the Academy was another outpost for training and also thought there may be a weaponsmith or free weapons handed out for recruits.
Well, I found out the hard way about the PVP training mission that you faced after entering the academy. So there was me, a Wa/Mo in starter armor, with no weapon, running around like a noob trying to do something besides cast healing skills on myself or teammates.
Upon completion, found out about the quest to clear out the grawl and again, couldn't do much since at that time, if you LOST the pvp match, all you got for help with that mission was the low level henchman Stefan.
I re-rolled the char and started over.

-trying to sell my armor in ascalon, ppl were saying i was scammer but i ignored that since i didnt know what it means
-guy sold me blue sword from collector for 9k
-too much superior runes
-trying to solo (didnt know for henchies)
-ignoring expertise(it seemed as waste of att pts) when playing with ranger and constantly having energy problems.
and a lot of usual things newbies do...

I recall two things amongst my (long) list of newbiness way back when during Prophecies days. The first was with my warrior; I didn't like his helmet at all coming out of pre-sear so rather than wear the ugly thing I simply took it off while waiting for a better one to come along. I figured my armor wouldn't be comprimised much by the loss of just the helmet, and getting hit for several hundred damage at times never clued me in to this...
The second was my first foray into PvP. I was sharp to notice that in TA the backbone of the team was the healer. So naturally I devised of a plan to shut him down -- a mesmer build with nothing but as many interrupts as I could fit in was just the ticket! I remember winning maybe 10-15% of the time despite this, which essentially meant that my teammates were winning 3 on 4.

Mine is...
. Spent 1 hour trying to find out how to complete chabek village in NF
. Talked to an NPC for 30 mins, thinking how rude he was...
. Didn't know how to use skills and such even though they were right infront of me...
. Sold 2 elite armors to a merchant because they looked bad...
. I sold my perfect zodiac axe for 5k....
That about sums up my great GW life :P

Mine was 2 times the noobish.
I did THK Bonus on my warrior while wielding an axe. Killed the boss before killing the last few enemies outside and lost the bonus. After the mission, I realised I was using a Axe Build with 0 Axe Mastery and 14 Swordsmanship.

My first serious character post-searing was a wammo (natch), on whom I thought it was a good idea to carry three weapon swaps - axe, sword and hammer - with a couple of skills for each one on the skillbar ><. I remember thinking that the hammer would probably be a good choice against the stone elementals in Diessa Lowlands, so I swapped from my axe to hammer to whale on them.
