What was the dumbest thing you did as a noob?

Haha! I did too. And I thought they were in presearing. I searched Ascalon City for so long and wondered why the hell I couldn't find those hench! I finally decided that if they were hiding that well, they obviously didn't want my noob golds. :P

I also thought I could stop the Searing. When the storyline progressed and I went post, I thought I'd done something horribly wrong. Fortunately someone nice set me straight before I could panic and delete my character. :P

silliest thing i've done is completing the Galrath's Quest with -60dp, at level 17 too if I remember correctly. And that's not all, I start the quest from lion's arch with a team of 6. Didn't know temple of ages exist yet, and I also did not know you can sneak past foes, failing to understand the very important "agro circle" top right circular radar map thing, if you don't know :P~

So basically, I kill everything that stands or not stand in the path between me and Galrath... i think that took ages... and the ressurect shrine is not close by... !!! not just one map... if you have also kill everything from Lion's Arch to Galrath, you know the pain.

This is also why, this character will never be deleted to restart a new one for the survivor title, IT IS A SURVIVOR CHARACTER if you can kill Galrath using 5 hench + yourself from lion's arch. *shudder* Alesia ...

Didn't know runes existed until about level 18, at which point I spent a lot of my money (back then) on sup mesmer runes... me being a nec

I was a pro rager.

I used the hammer a lot, just because it dealed more damage than the sword or axe. Later I discovered the power of shields. lol :P

oh, and GuildWiki solved a LOT of my newb problems.

Selling ecto's to merchant and thinking: "Nice! 250g :P" I don't remember if the material traders were already in the game at that moment though.
Also, putting black dyes on random stuff to see what it looks like... having no clue they were around 15k at that time.

When I first started I saw all these characters with capes and I thought they were spiffy. I had no idea how you got them and I didn't want to ask - didn't want people yelling "newb" at me, hehe.
I assumed that you received a cape after winning the little PvP pre-character battle before going to post. So I lost - didn't get my cape. Deleted the character and started over again... and again.

Oh! Also buying a white non max damage Chaos Axe for 3k+.

Up until yesterday.

I was running 2 Majors and a Superior on my Ranger, because I thought surely the extra...4 damage to my skills would suffice for the health I was bombing.

1.firestorm on my 1st char (ranger -.-)
2.wasting hours in ascalon city saying 'why is it snowy in here but all desertish outside?' it was xmas when i bought it =P
3.being scared of henchmen
4.using a sword on my monk coz it was purple and i got it out of a chest
5.playing rage-smite on a monk...with heal party as my only heal
6.buying every single armor i could lay my hands on.
7.thinking a sword was good coz it had the word 'precious' on it
8.being scared of anything above lvl1 in pre
9.selling 7 dyes for 100g in pre coz i couldnt work out how to take out stuff from the trade window (2 of which were silver )
10.feelin bad coz i couldnt make 500g a week for a guild i was in (they needed a gh)
11.hating the fact i couldnt give this wand to my monk coz i didnt no about storage
12.getting stuck on d'allesio seaboard (omg)
13.not knowing how to dance...i ended up running round in circles around the people having the random pre-parties u see

When I was on the mission between pre- and postsearing I noticed this guy Stefan standing next to me.. I whispered him asking where he was from.. He never replied

I traded my black dye for a r13 GOLD truncheon.

Then I had no problem with the game until I reached the desert. I couldn't understand why I sucked so much, so I made a wammo instead. Now I know why, it wasn't me sucking, it was the game getting harder (and never having a monk in party)...

Reminded me of another thing I did: trying to sell a precious hammer for more beacuse it had "precious" on it as well. However, I DID sell it to someone . Lol, I realized after and stopped selling them higher.

Buying a non-max purple FDS for all the life savings I had at the time (approx. 10k) because I saw Rurik had it and I wanted to have the same one!

Playing N/E and trying to do everything. Minions, Fire, Blood Degen, Water and Necro Curses, You name it-it was on my bar. All with 0 points in Soul Reaping, it seemed useless.

I was in the desert before I figured out what Soul Reaping did...

not buying upgraded armor for my first character until yak's bend.
i kept seeing the same looking armor at every crafter and thought it was really the same. then someone informed me about armor levels and why i was probably dying so fast everywhere i went...

I made a N/W build xD

my friend, fresh out of pre, used to run from outpost to outpost. like he would leave the outpost, then run through the explorable area to the next town because he didnt know you could map travel ;D

-Bought my brother a nonmax FDS for 2k (about a week after release)

-Beat Prophecies with armor from the desert (who needs 10 extra AL?)

Edit: Oh and thinking that Presearing was the entire game. -_-

And... not thinking quests were important. My first day of GW i ran around swording everything to death on my necro and dying valiantly to those level 2 river skales.

My first character was a W/E. I remember having Flare, Firestorm, and Lava Font on my bar. I kinda figured they were bad just by comparing them to Power Attack's performance and the energy they drained that I just didn't have... but when I found Armor of Earth I thought I was unstoppable.

someone went AFK in a mission the other day, i think it was hell's preciple, to go get a hiarcut..... you jerk.


anyway, I made my nuking ranger and couldnt figure out why expertise didnt reduse fire storm.

I also sold a 15^50 jade sword for 50k. D'oh!

Trying to put monk runes on my ele to make him a pro healer
Making a W/R and bitching cause I didn't go monk for healing breeze
Running a ranger with 3 sup runes.........I really wasn't thinking that day
Not buying new armor till I got the desert, I still had the starter armor.
Thinking droks was the final area of the game
Thinking sins were pro tanks
Using an FDS on my ele cause he was a fire ele, and using a close up ele
