If it was old black dye, then I'd accept this answer. But New Black Dye?

Irrelevant. If they like it, then leave them be.

I like the color blue more than any other type of dye color. Sometimes I like to combine blue with silver. But Black Dye, to me, is just worth selling to someone else.

the "grim reaper" image is appealing to some people, and dervishes are the perfect fit. Anyway, I personally think that black prim is pretty nice looking, and have a set of it myself.

If you could get a dark mystery look with black primeval then it would be awsome. but personally I love blood red, the one I do is very expensive to run QQ. but for many people the black just looks so much better than most of the other colors

or you know it could symbilize richness...

I figure black is popular because it's the most expensive and it tells people you're l33t enough to afford it.
Personally, I like the 15k Sunspear armour. I was happy when I saw that most people weren't buying it.... probably 'cause it's not as l33t as FoW or Primeval. I went with red everything except a white skirt and yellow top (it only dyes the necklace portion so it looks like a big ass gold necklace). I think the contrast works well. I also prefer the regular Sunspear gloves and hood, so that's what I use.

From a artistic standpoint black white, and shades of green are tints and shades. From a physics standpoint they are all just wavelengths, and within visible light, which would make them colors. But, I think we're going based on a fashion/artistic standpoint, which makes them neutral, and not colors.
From an artists standpoint - all colours (including green) are hues. Adding black to a hue gives you a different shade of that same hue. Adding white to a hue gives you a different tint of that same hue.
Black and pure white are technically not colours as they are defined as the presence or absence of all colours within the visible light spectrum. They are usually referred to universally as shades though (when comparing two things that are black/white we say something is a different shade of black or different shade of white). Grey is also considered a shade since it is a achieved by adding black to white. Adding grey to a hue can be either shading or tinting the hue, depending on which direction the hue goes within the light spectrum.

Does anyone ever notice that people have something called...oh, I don't know...an opinion?
Maybe they like it dyed black, I personally have a set of black primeval myself and I do not have it because I think it is so called "1337" but I like the look of it.
People really need to stop complaining about other peoples opinions.

Yeah I created a derv the day nightfall came out. And took a few days to beat the game and get the armor. I like the way primeval looks. I also liked it because it was endgame armor. I like endgame armor the best because it is a badge that says "I beat the game". And finally I dyed it black because for the grim reaperish look. There wasn't alot of those armors and dyed black back then. meh-doesn't really matter. Besides I wouldn't want to waste expensive dye on cheap armor.

the real answer to all of this, is opinions. people are entitled to their opinions unless GW turns into a dictatorship. some people probably wear colors and armors they dont like just to be cool just like in real life or on the other hand they might actually like it.
asking a question about an opinion and saying its stupid is.. well just dumb.
thats how i feel about everyone hating on armor styles. but if someone asks you for your opinion on the armor then i think thats fine.. because they asked for it. ._.
