Why is there a 30 second wait between searches?

I try to use the search feature, but I end up not getting the results I'm looking for the first time. When I try to use a different combination of words, I'm forced to wait. Is there a reason for this?

Searching is very server intensive is all. Most forums have some sort of time limit, pretty common.

I've been on tons of forums, for everything from FPS Clans, to the ill-fated Gizmondo, to RPG forums, like this one, and this is the first time I've seen a search limit. I wouldn't say "pretty common"

Heheh, right back at you. I visit dozens of forums a day, hundreds in a year and yes... I see many with search limits. It is very common as it's a standard feature on nearly all major forum softwares.

They're extremely common. Theres several forums that I go on and pay for a subscription to and still have a search limit. I also run a alliance forum and a graphics design forum...both have search time limits. Its just to help keep extra strain off of the server(s).
