You know those frost wurms in Frostmaw's Burrow? Well you know there is a dust trail that appears and comes closer to you then the frost wurm comes out? Well my idea is that the dust trail applies to all 'burrowable' wurms in the game. So you know when wurms come out other than a shaking screen.

/signed, Wurms are just annoying. Need to know where/when they are coming.

This would really help in avoiding and predicting when to use skills. I have my music on which makes sound effects only half as effective, and I may be focused on staying alive or keeping someone else alive to bother noticing that my screen is shaking, however, I happened to notice the dust flying off the ground!

when we can locate frostwurms rushing to us..then we should be also able to recognize other wurms ...

My goodness! How did we ever survive those other wurms? IMO it's just another way to "dumb down" the game. Most of the other wurms have a set spawn point. If you've been in an area a few times you should know where they will be.

as monty said, if you've been in the area a few times you'll know where the spawns are...
people are managed up until now.. and im pretty sure in the other parts of the game they don't "move" as they do in frostmaws burrow

So far as I can tell, that dust is used with all the 'burrow and move' wurms.

Sand Wurms in the Crystal desert have it, frost wurms in the shiverpeaks have it too, and the wurms in the fire islands have the trails too. You just have to pay attention. All of them have their dust when they move underground.

Really? All I see is screen shake, you get knocked down, wurm appears. I was running the desert yesterday and I did not see the trail when the wurm was following me. Or when it 'ambushed' the poor scarabs.

Most, not all. Some will just ambush your party, often times on low health, which can get quite annoying. And when it comes to dumbing down the game, it's already "Dumb" the way it is. In all practicality, you would see those trails everywhere.

lol I have no idea why people /notsign for this but w/e! LMAO ruin the game? LMAO

Btw, I think Mith is right. All wurms have the trail itself. You just need better graphic card I think!

Seeing someone get the living shit scared out of them when they come face to trunk with a Wurm for the first time is too funny to let go of.

/signed I hate desert wurms that pop out at me while farming, and just popup wurms in general. And the Drok's runs? Ouch...This sounds like a good idea.

They already have a trail. Try turning on Post-Processing effects.

The only time I struggle to see the dust is when I'm in the Desolation somewhere. I can usually spot it in snow or sand unless I'm rushing...

Ah! I understand now!

No, no. They do not run. They first pop, then move. The thing here is the distance. Desert wurms pop when you are much near. Dungeon wurms are already created and do not pop-up. That's why you can see the trails much earlier.

But all of them have trails.

¬¬ Ahem.

Created.

There are two kinds of spawns in GW.

Those that are created when the map is loaded.
Those that are created when a trigger is activated (a mission objetive, picking a quest, stepping on a pop-up trigger)

The Wurms in the dungeon are created on load.
The Wurms in the desert are created as pop-ups.

They only 'appear' when you are near.
After that, they have trails. You trigger one pop-up and run, you'll see the trails following the party.

It may be a bit hard, specially in the desert, since the dust have similar color to the ground.
