I gave away a boatload of greens in Kamadan and Ascalon; I'm really trying to be thicker skinned about taking crap from greedy people who just want more stuff. :P I gave an elite Monk tome to someone in my alliance, although that might not count as I don't ask for any money in return for tomes I give my alliance peeps, and I gave a black dye to one of the alliance's friendliest and sweetest people.
What did I get? A lot of thanks, the pleasure of the friendship of a lot of people that I've met on this game, and of course a good time. Maybe I will see about getting someone to smuggle me into SF to get my black moa chick but we'll see what happens. I don't want/need a whole lot of anything in this game these days (well short of a growing want for Obsidian for my Mesmer, which will never happen because me and UW for ecto seem to be two things that will never come together ).
