Question about Sloth Hunters Shot
Khasar
If I use Sloth Hunters Shot while under the effects of [skill]Incendiary Arrows[/skill] will it always do the bonus damage? Basically, does the interrupt happen before the damage is applied?

It works with daze so i think it works with that too.

Preps land after the hit is finalised, so it shouldn't apply the conditional bonus damage.

The note on wiki says that when dazed, a spell is interrupted first and thus [wiki]Sloth Hunter's Shot[/wiki] will apply it's bonus. It would appear that this is the same for [wiki]Incendiary Arrows[/wiki].

After trying this out, I think it does NOT always apply the bonus damage. I got 56 (and less) damage from Sloth on Lightning Orb a couple of times, even when it was interrupted by Incendiary (violet bar +32 from Frustration). Sloth would have done 24 + 33 = 57 bonus damage if the interrupt had occurred before evaluation of the Sloth damage.
Maybe I'll test a bit more later with a 15-15 candy bow to eliminate any variation in raw bow damage.
If you want to repeat, approach a fresh Master of Lightning but stay out of aggro, cast Incendiary, optionally SQ and Frustation immediately follow by Sloth.

Shouldn really need Furtration ^^ Try getting close with a short bow or something to ensure you interupt.
The damage bonus should be quite significent and you should notice it (it will be higher than a normal shot even if it achives critical).

Candy Cane Bow did 16 damage raw @ 14 Marks. When interrupting with [wiki]Sloth Hunter's Shot[/wiki] on [wiki]Incendiary Arrows[/wiki] the damage was 40 (+32 from [wiki]Frustration[/wiki]), which is exactly the 16 from the bow plus the 24 from Sloth you get at 14 Marks, and certainly without the no-activation bonus.
But it does work with Daze....

Choking Gas however does work, like Daze, and you'll see the bonus damage. This time at 12 Marks (13 Exp, 14 WS): 15 raw damage, +22 damage and another +30 additional bonus totaling 67 (+7 from Choking Gas in another package), see attached screenshot.

So yeah, it's supposed to deal the conditional bonus damage when used in conjunction with Choking Gas.
Amy Awien
Indeed, it says that and I'd read it and it was expected to work this way, but since I was setup to test anyway, it didn't hurt to do so.

Quote from wiki: There is no conditional bonus when interrupting with Sloth Hunter's Shot while under the effect of Incendiary Arrows, but there is when interrupting a spell using Sloth Hunter's Shot under Choking Gas.
Enough said imo. ~Prof. MBP

This might go good with Rapid Fire and Burning Arrow instead of Incendiary.

Added 27th December, anywho, ot bored decided to test this heres my results ^_^
I ran a 15 -10 Shortbow with Shocking Bow String to try and keep the damage consistant. 15 Marksmanship. All tests were conducted against the Master of Lightning (Gotta hate blinding flash) and were done a total of 10 times each (to rule out any chance of a lucky crticial). A table I drew up with my results... The columns in order are... First - Sloth Hunters Shot without the additional damage (it hit the target while it was casting a spell, therefore only delivering the first set of bonus damage) Second - Sloth Hunters Shot with the full bonus damage (it hit the target when it was not usin a skill) Third - Sloth Hunters Shot coupled with Incendiary Arrows against a target usin a skill Forth - Sloth Hunters Shot hitting a dazed foe, the shot hit while the taret was casting a spell. Fifth - Sloth Hunters Shot coupled with [skill=text]Choking Gas[/skill] against a target using a skill. Sixth - Sloth Hunters Shot coupled with [skill=text]Warmonger's Weapon[/skill] against a target using a skill. The bold number along the bottom of each column is the average damage over the 10 shots. I first recorded the damage I was achiveing through using Sloth Hunters on a target that was not using a skill and then was usin a skill, just so I could see what the damage was supposed to be for each. I then proceded to see how the different interrupts effected Sloth Hunters Shot. The only one (so far) that it actually hasnt worked with is Incendiary Arrows, and to be honest I really dont see why it doesnt work? A Bug maybe? I dont know, but there ya go lol I was going to try more but got a lil tired. If anyone wants to try [skill=text]Spinal Shivers[/skill], [skill=text]Disrupting Accuracy[/skill] and [skill=text]Wailing Weapon[/skill] be my guest. Wakka Thats pretty much it lol I was going to do more but im pretty sleepy now Kale Ironfist

Preparations are supposed to land after your arrow hits. Choking Gas is the only exception to that rule.

Thanks for clearing that up guys, excellent answers.

Choking Gas works like a miasma, lingering in the vicinity of the shot arrow, making the chance of interruption and thus inactivity due to the slight spacing between gas and arrow impact. Physics in play.
