Past Hat Event

I think Anet should have an event that would give out all the previous hats that have been on Guild Wars. This would give people who didn't have access to a certain hat be eligible to receive them. There could be quests or some games to try and win them. It could be like Shing Jea Boardwalk where you when tickets, and turn in tickets for the hats. Just some ideas for now.

It'll never happen. People are fixated on the fact that if you weren't there, you don't deserve hats from said events.

I won't ever get to see my characters in a Wicked Hat because of that thinking.

A similar post was made a while ago. Something along the lines of "unlock previous festival hats through one long, hard quest." Galie actually specifically posted saying she didn't like the idea.
So... that's as close as you can get to getting shot down.

I would like another opportunity to get the Tengu mask. I understand that this mask was only available for one day and only those who worked for the mask who had preordered Guild Wars Factions could obtain it. I preordered Factions, however, I had reordered the Collector's Edition. In return, they say that they were surprised that so many CE editions of the game had been bought, so they had to make more to ship out. As a gift, they gave us a Miniature Kuunavang (which I don't have) but I never had the opportunity to get a Tengu mask...

If you weren't there, you don't get the hat. Let's keep it that way.

Well I only have the hats from 06 and although it would be nice to have the 05 ones I wasnt there so thats that.

The hat says I was there in 05 and in my opinion the only reason to have a virtual hat from an event that you where not at is to brag about it and pretend you were there.
Its not as if they are that different to the present ones just slight changes made.

I think the whole issue with preording factions for the tengu mask, or buying the CE for divine aura should be left alone. If you spent extra money, then you should be the only ones who have that.

As for all the festival hats, I still would like to have some way of obtaining them. I personally didn't get my copy of Nightfall till after the winter holidays so I missed out on the Freezie Crown. I would like some way to earn one of those, be it quests, boardwalk games, or spending more money on it.

And with all the talk about "Oh, you weren't there, so you shouldn't get it" how does it affect you if someone else has a little hat. BIG WHOOP! If people want to spend their time and money on a hat, then let them do that.

Whatever it takes, just give it to us.

I'd signed this on one reasons.

You cannot receive hats if you account was not active before the event.

some one who started plaing the first day could receive any hats.

Some one who started right before halloween 2006, would be able to get ay hat from there and forward.

Some one who go his account active today would only be able to get hats from today and forward.

The only exception would be the tengu mask for those who have preorder faction.

I think this is a good idea. Not our fault we weren't able to get online to get the hat (such as power outage, not having the game, etc.), so why should we not get it? But the rule would be you could only get one per account I'd say, but then again, that's what the festival hat maker is for.

I like this idea, a lot of people who were around in 2005 didn't get the hats for various reasons. I wasn't a big player back then, and I didn't even know the events were on. But more importantly, I know a lot of people who did attend the events just binned the hats. Back then we only had one page of storage and no hat maker, a lot of people just didn't have room for keeping them. So giving out the standard yule cap and pumpkin crown, with people with accounts that old would be fine.

But giving out ALL of the hats to ALL players would ruin what makes them special. It's not like the people who missed certain hats miss out completely, they'll get some new hats this year. But IMO, there should be some rewards for playing games for a long period of time.

Yes, I may be an old fart but I am SICK of this idea that some of you brats want everything! I see it too damn much nowdays. I long for the "old days" when people would appreciate what they had and not expect everything to just drop in their laps.

Sure, I want previous hats I missed or deleted due to storage space/character change, but you know what? I won't get them. I have to live with that fact, and I am doing fine without them.
This isn't some elitism being brought down on other players: IE "I have hat that you don't! NAHANAHANAHNAH!!"
It is just a fact of life. You can't always get what you want.
