I redeemed my EoTN trial key and started playing the game. I was kind of surprised to see the map was the same as Prophecies. I knew it took place in Tyria, but I thought they still made a different map.
Anyways, I started doing the first few quests and so far EoTN doesn't seem to be all that great. It seems kind of repetitive so far, find guy - take the aspect of an animal - complete quest - do it again. Is this just like a little tutorial into EotN? Does it get better?

It gets much better, especially the dungeons and the quest rewards are better than in the other games. By the time you do the side quests and the main story in nm you shouldn't be far away from being able to afford some prestige armor.
This is what I recommend for you to try: once at the eotn after you get the 3 main quests start with the norn one which should first take you to gunnar's hold where you should try Fronis Irontoe's Lair and then keep following the norn quest 'till it takes you to sifhalla and do the finding the norn bear main quest there, after you're done that leave the outpost and go left and try the Sepulchre of Dragrimmar dungeon.

Thanks for the reply. I'll try out your advice.

Kind of depends on what you hope to achieve. I want to max all of the titles, which means redoing main quests in hard mode over and over again. I've had it for three weeks now and I am bored to tears. I can't even think of bringing another character through it.

Yeah, I could care less about titles. I just want to finish the game, get some nice armor, stuff like that.

If you do all the quests, nm missions, nm dungeons, hm missions and hm dungeons you'll only need to farm maybe 20k rep for each title.

I have 3 HM dungeons left, and I have 971 Master of the North points, so that should illustrate to you the rest of what I've done so far.
My Norn is at 125k (NM and HM handbook). My Asura is 89k, my Delver is 107k (from repeated Secret Lair of the Snowman runs... and I do mean repeated), and my Vanguard just tipped over 80k last night when I finished Warband of Brothers for the sixth time.
That's a little more than 20k for each title. I don't know where you got that number from.
