Whos really the hero??

I have been reading about how you can have heros and henchmen join you on quests and i was just wondering, arent WE the heros of the game??Because as far back as 1981 most of the time you, the player, would be the "Hero" that save the universe, the galaxy, the planet, or just the country from "the ultimate evil" and you "save the day" but now they are saying you are NOT the hero, so what are we the sidekicks??

I think the difference is supposed to be that henchmen are just hirelings - they're there for a cut of the loot, and have no vested interest in achieving the goal. Heroes are in for the long haul w/ you, and it's really just a distinction between heroes and henchmen...

Nono, basically they're called Heroes because they've already achieved something "cool" or "heroic" in their native land (I.E where you pick them up)

But yeah WE are the heroes...but they're sidekicks because we can order them about and not vice versa. Think of them as your Hero buddies if you like...you're a team..

I think it's just easier than them being called customizable hench buddies or something.

It's not a slight against us.

And a lot of games have heroes other than the player character. Just look at FF7. Barret and Tifa are just as much heroes as Cloud...

And we're not much of a Hero anyways, we let that OBVIOUSLY EVIL dragon just sit there at the end of GW:EN and it winds up SCREWING UP THE WORLD.

Proof that people can complain about EVERYTHING in this game.

At least Kormir wasn't praised as a hero in Nightfall, don't want to spoil it for anyone, but it was basically her fault that the whole thing went down. Then she got herself blinded and we had to do all the fighting. And not to mention that she gets the major reward in the end.

But yeah, Koss, Dunkoro and the ilk are all heroic heroes who decided to do more heroicy hero stuff with you as you, the hero, heroically save the world from the blunders of the unheroic 'heroine'.

Yeah, I think Companions would've been a better choice of words. Especially considering that the game uses Hero to refer to both Koss & Co. as well as the player.
