Idea for new ID/salvage kit
Tender Wolf
As it is, every single ID and salvage kit you get (regular, superior, expert, and perfect) all expire. Why not make one of each that lasts forever? But make it a challenge to acquire of course. So much money is spent toward those ID and salvage kits and not everyone realizes it. In the end, it adds up. So I think there should be one that lasts forever.

ID and Salvage kits give certain benefits, but they are not necessary. Also, if intelligently used, the benefits outweigh the costs.

So... no. The goldsink of ID/salvage kits is necessary. Be a bit smarter about usage; don't indiscriminately salvage that Shing Jea crap and see how far your kits stretch.

My identification kits and salvage kits go down at a decent rate that I know I make probably 10x the amount that I spend on it. Especially with the expert. On a good run, I can go through about maybe...five kits a month? Average is one a month for say, a superior identification. Superior salvage lasts me a long time.

The amount of gold made off of identifying your typical full inventory of whites/blues/purples/golds far outweighs the cost.

IDing your whole invent then merchanting it.
For salvage kits, getting the armor pieces you find, getting the runes and selling them outweighs it too.

Since when did the cost for these add up?
I'll often carry 3-4 ID kits, if you ID everything you make at least twice as much off everything you sell to the merchant.

Would have to be slightly more than normal per useage as your paying for the convienience of not having to remeber to buy more kits

Minimum 16 gold per salvage and minimum 5 gold per identification; these numbers are the price per use of the Superior kits. Maybe add an extra gold piece or two for the unlimited kit usage, so 18 gold salvage, 6 gold identification. Also, since it keeps the gold sink, I'd say make it available at a near endgame merchant, with a buy price as well. The buy price will make another gold sink and make it so that people will have to decide whether or not it is worth it.

I would agree with a Kit that you can 'refill' by using other kits on them:
- Max uses: 255
- Buy 25 uses kit, use kit on your refillable kit: Kit gets 25 uses.
- Buy 100 uses kit, use kit on your refillable kit: Kit gets 100 uses.
- A kit has 10 uses remaining, use on your refillable kit: Kit gets 10 uses.
But such a kit WON'T be available in shops. It would be a Final Chest drop.
Available only as VERY rare gold drop from Elite Mission and Dungeon chests.

I love how everyone talks about how wrecked the GW economy is (see: greens, Z keys, lockpicks, farming nerfs), but if someone suggests infinite identification omg ull riun the ekonomee!!!11 Let's get those problems fixed first before we flame a simple suggestion, ne?
