Noobs Questions

Hello, I am pretty much brand new to GW, having just grabbed it out of the box and I do have a couple of basic questions, firstly...where is a bank chest or some such thing to hold my items for me as I tend to save everything I come across like unidentifieds and raw materials, and how do I identify stuff?

I am not too sure which version I have because the official site seems to be very vague on that as does the instruction manual lol

the bank in gw is the storage, the storage is in every city, except pre searing. You can identify items with an indentification kit, this kit you can buy at a merchant.

There is a xunlai chest in every outpost which can be used as a storage between your characters, however if you own prophecies then you won't be able to acccess these chests in pre-searing, which is where you start in that campaign, you'll know when you get out of pre-searing. Indentification kits are used to identify things and these can be bought from the merchant in any outpost.

well, if you have bought the original GW (Prophecies) then the starting area you are in won't have any storage chests. They'll come a little later on. If you have some unidentified items I'd recommend buying an ID kit when you have the funds for it. they're a really worthwhile investment and you should try IDing all unidentified items.

When you reach a storage chest you will also be able to purchase a section to store your materials. Just look around for a "Xunali Agent" and they'll be able to give you access to the Xunlai Chest, which is your storage chest.

If you're in a campaign other than Prophecies then there should be a Xunlai Agent & Chest in whatever outpost you have.

It's vague? What does the art on the box look like? What does the woman (it usually is) look like?

If you have the Original (Prophecies), and are in a place that is called 'Ascalon City', that is light and airy, you can't get 'Storage' yet, it's only avaliable in post-searing. 'Storage' or 'Xunlai Storage' is what you are calling the bank chest, it has it's own special name.

An unidentified weapon can be identified using an Identification Kit, obtained from a merchant.

Thanks a lot guys, it does seem I do have the "ascalon City" one, and as for what the woman on the box looks like..quite hot in an Elvish kind of way lol

I will hunt around for a merchant to buy some ID kits, I have an entire inv of UN'ided stuff to sell

Prophesies you start in Ascalon
Factions you are in Shing Jea monestary
Nightfall you are in Kamadan

So, definetly the Original aka Prophicies you have there. There'll be a merchant in Ascalon City, hold down the 'alt' key and look for someone with '[Merchant]' by their name. In Pre an Id kit can pay for itself in two Id's (Improved Sale Value weapons can be about 60 gold+ in Pre). Good luck.
