Guys, if I have Nightfall and Prophecies, and I have a Nightfall created character, how do I go to UW? Do I have to ascend?

By then NF characters should be "ascended".

Yes you have to ascend. Ascension in NF is Hunted! quest.
Or you could go to the other continents to ascend:
Prophecies(Tyria): Ascension
Factions(Cantha): Weh no Su
After Ascension you will need to get to Chantry of Secrets in Elona to go to UW or FoW.
In Prophecies(Tyria) you have to go to Temple of Ages.
But for a NightFall character it would be quickest to ascend in NightFall through normal story line. But after that you could go to Lions Arch(Prophecies) and get a run to Temple of Ages to access UW or FoW.
