The hood on a Dervish
Online Gamer
I looked on guild wars wiki to see what bonuses the hood gave a dervish. it says +1 to an attribute of your choice. How do you choose that?
P.S. Can you use a heroes skill that you dont have ex. I have dunkoro with healing breeze i am a dervish/monk can I use his skill like he can use mine... if so how?
Or for the skill Eternal Aura it only allows heroes to buy it so how do i get thatinto my build/template

When you make the hood, you can choose what attribute bonus it carries. Alternatively, certain hoods come with a modifier that gives them +1 of whatever attribute rune is currently on them.
Syntonic
Well, when you make it, you have a selection of hoods with attributes available to choose from.
Some special items are +1 attribute that adds to whatever rune you put on to the hood such as minor scythe will give you a scythe mastery hood.
Edit: Someone beat me to the punch.

Hood ---> +1
Minor Rune ---> +1
Major Rune ---> +2
Superior Rune ---> +3
Runes do not stack.
So therefore;
Superior Rune of Mysticism + Superior Rune of Mysticism = +3
It's a waste of health.
However, your hood does stack.
So..
Hood of Mysticism + Minor Rune of Mysticism = +2
Hood of Mysticism + Superior Rune of Mysticism = +4
Heroes cannot use PvE-Only skills (Eternal Aura is one of them).
Only you can....
And before you ask no you can't use pve only skills in pvp

Ahh man so I cant use pve skills in PvP thats not good=( The hood will give you the bonus for whatever it was crafted in (could be scythe, or something else). The rune that you put on it will give you the bonus from itself...hope that sentence made sense.
Ex: Hood of mysticism=Myst +1, add a superior scythe rune=Scythe +3 =>total of Myst. +1, Scythe +3
You get Eternal Aura from the hero trainer in Kamadan, there are a couple others too, but you're pretty much guaranteed to be in Kamadan by now, I'd assume. Oh, and they're listed under Sunspear skills, not under the class; will cost 1 skill point like other hero skills.
Edit: the armor crafter will have a bunch of hoods of the same style, w/ the name of the attribute it changes, just pick the one you want.
And no, the PVE skills are PVE only, so that they don't unbalance PVP (they're generally too strong, and would have to be nerfed if they were in PVP).

So what you are telling me is when you go into PVP from PvE you have no skills at all...(I feel like a dumb ass
)unless you have already unlocked in Pvp?

no, pve only skills are skills unlocked either through the hero skill trainer (sunspear skills) or through a kurzick/luxon representative(alliance skills)
normals skills, bought from a skill trainer, are not pve only skills, and can be used in pvp

That's Aura of Holy Might. Eternal Aura is available in Kamadan from the Hero Skill Trainer.

Thankfully, because having to grind faction to get the skill that makes avatar builds particularly good in PvE would be quite annoying.
That said, AoHM is a skill that you really want to grab ASAP as well... but it's not such a requirement.
