Factions box content?

Hello, I just bought Factions and I am suspicious that there are missing contents in the box. Two things missing are the manuscript and possibly a disc. According to the guild wars wiki , there is suppose to be a manuscript and two discs. I see only one DVD disc, though it is not marked "disc 1 or 2". I do have the access key but I am afraid of opening it (which would probably void me from returning the game) as I am suspicious that something would be wrong with it as well.

I bought the game from Best Buy. Can someone tell me what is really suppose to be in the box? Please respond soon I would like to resolve this and play. Thanks.

It's quite possible that it's simply the "DVD edition" on 1 DVD instead of 2 CDs. It's also quite possible that the contents of the box have changed since the wiki was written. What does the outside of the box say about the contents?
On Guildwars.com it states the contents of the box as 2 game CDs, game manual, and quick reference card. It doesn't mention a manuscript.

At any rate, all you really need is the key.

Isn't the Manuscripts, like the instruction booklet? I bought Factions from Online store, so that rules me out of the comparison game

Try amazon, go like your wanting to buy it

Ps. Maybe you are comparing the collectors edition to standard, I got a rediculous amount of free stuff with NF collectors

I had the same thing w/ my version of Factions - it was 1 DVD, a quick start & shortcut key guide, the sealed CD key thing, and a PlayNC brochure, but no thick manual like Prophecies or Nightfall had...

I've had the exact same problem as you. My factions box only had 1 disk and no manuscript. I didn't really care since my game updated itself with factions and I got the manuscript downloaded from the official site as a PDF. There was no problem with the access key.

However, don't just take my word for it. I seem to be a packaging problem magnet as my Nightfall box had 2 working access keys and my EOTN box didn't have the manuscript.

I read the Guild Wiki guide, thats why I bought (Factions) online, if you were promised, extras, the only one you can take it up with is the seller!

You have a box so you musta bought from a shop, just march in there, slam it down on the desk, if he/she growls at you, just say "F**K of lackey, I'm a customer, you ripped me off, get me what I paid for" <----Only if you're sure 100% of missing things!

Actually, the box itself should say what it's contents should be, just compare those.

Like the others said, the CD(s) are just for installing a connection to the game servers. If you've had a GW game installed previously - be it another campaign, a trial disk, or even if you downloaded the client off of Guildwars.com - you don't need the CD(s); all you need is the access key to play your new campaign.

I asked people in my guild and got the same response here, so I guess only earlier version of factions had everything describe in the wiki. Ncsoft decided to be cheap wankers and left out the full colored manual . Thanks everyone for clearing it up.

Well, printing is expensive; especially when what you're printing was out of date ages ago. Both Guildwikis are far better resources for any game info anyway.

Guild wiki is just a "wiki" - it's written by users, not ANet - you can't go demanding stuff because wiki says so!
