Prince Rurik's death??

I don't understand it when NPC's die why cant they be ressed, like when Prince Rurik dies everyone is like 'gasp', 'omg', 'what are we gonna do now', but why can't you res him??

He could be, but there's too many stone summit around, he tells the hero to take the refugees and flee, not save him. If you had an army to hold off the evil shorties then you could have saved him, but you didn't .

Well lore-wise, he was separated from the rest of the party so there was no way we could rez him on the spot. His body was taken away after that(not necessarily by the dwarfs), so even if we want to rez the noobie prince, we couldn't find his corpse.

I think its been discussed before. You can't rez him cos he's not in your party. Notice how you can't rez any of your non-party Allies?*

None of his party brought a rez, the selfish buggers. Don't pug with them.

*Something in EotN rezzes the Allies tho...

As said there is no time. This was discussed awhile back in the thread which questioned ressurection ingame - Major NPCs who die always die under circumstances where its hard to bring them back.

Rurik was killed while we were fleeing. The Stone Summit were surrounding him and he had just got stuck under an avalance and taken an axe to the face. And not long after he was found by the Lich. Not much time.

There was Frozen Soil? I think that much was obvious

1) We had to flee, it was that or have the lvl 8 Ascalon Refugees get pwned by the Summit.

2) If you recall, an avalanche, debris, and a tree fell on Rurik. I don't think he'd want to live his life as a cripple. Plus, it was MegaCripple, the fast-acting, long-lasting condition that won't give in to petty little remedies (Mend Ailments and all).

3) Rurik was not in our party. All the others in his party were stupid Wammo guards who swapped out their res spell for Frenzy.

4) It's part of video game physics. If someone dies in a cinematic, they're GONE.

Rurik was not chosen. That's why we couldn't res him in the first place.

he already had 60 dp, y would any1 bother?

Our characters probably thought "finally, we're free of this maniac!" and left him dead.

If we ressed him he'd be following us around all of Prophecies.

"I shall distract these titans so that you may kill the Lich."
"A very noble sacrifice of you, Rurik."
"Sacrifice? Hell no! Keep me alive AND kill the Lich."

Yeah, it'd be mission impossible.

Rurik = Dumb agrooing warrior let him dead...

Rurik is the patron saint of all dumb aggroing warriors, the original inventor of arcane-echoed mending. Hell, he's even got a fiery dragon sword!
