I got a new graphics card for christmas, a MSI radeon X1650 Pro 512MB (AKA MSI RX1650Pro-TD512) for AGP. When I turn on anti-aliasing(2x or 4x, doesn't matter which) in GW my fps drop to ~0.3, I can clearly see the frames drawing slowly..
I used to have a geforce 6600.. I could use AA then.
I thought it was the drivers at first, so I've tried those in the package, the latest catalyst(7.12) and atm I'm running the latest omega drivers (based on catalyst 7.10).
AA works excellent in other games, it's just in GW that it won't work
My specs:
CPU: AMD Sempron 2400+ (suucks lol )
Motherboard: Asrock K7NF2-RAID
GPU: MSI radeon X1650 pro AGP
RAM: DDR 2x 512MB, 1x 256MB 400mhz (running at 333mhz due to slow CPU)
2 HDD: Seagate IDE 200GB, Seagate SATA 250GB
PSU: Hec Windmill 385W
I wanna run GW with AA, help me someone
EDIT: I posted this in the wrong forum.. supposed to be in technician's corner..

Best guess is that you didn't completely uninstall the old drivers and don't have a clean install with the new Video card.
You need to uninstall the current Catalyst drivers, make sure all of your old Nvidia graphics drivers are uninstalled also.
Reboot into safe mode (press F8 right after the BIOS POST screen and before the windows loading screen) and use the program, Driver Cleaner Pro to remove Nvidia video driver remnants and ATI driver remnants. Don't select all of the options, just the Nvidia driver and the plain ATI selection.
Reboot again after it cleans and reinstall the full set of Catalyst 7.12 drivers and you should be ok. If this does not help, try windows update and DirectX update to make sure the rest of your computer is fully up to date with your current graphics card. Often microsoft will release small patches here and there for video and computer performance based on your hardware.

TY, I'll try that
dont feel no pain
Its a good card if you get it working well,
Fps on max settings - 40-50 (also max ATI)
Fps on max settings + AA - 30-40
my specs only a little better than yours so it should be around the same

Every catalyst driver that came after the 7.7 had some serious bugs with AGP cards (some smartgard options are deactivated).
So my advice is to use the 7.7, and then install ati tray tools and see if all your smartgard options are enabled.
I have a x1950pro 512Mo AGP, and the latest driver that worked for me was the 7.7

I found the problem.. I feel a bit stupid for not trying this earlier.. I usually run the game in windowed mode, running it in fullscreen fixed the problem..
Not that I really fixed the problem but I can get around it now.. I've installed the catalyst 7.7 drivers and made sure that all smartgart features are turned on.
Thanks for the help anyway
