As a strong advocate of the Kurzick side and a regular participant in Alliance Battles, I have very little to do with the Luxons. However, I recently needed 10k Luxon faction in order to access Gyala on my elementalist. The easiest and funnest way for me, was to repeatedly do Fort Aspenwood as a Luxon. I had forgotten just how fun FA was to me, and this gave me quite an interesting idea.
Why not tie the various forms of PvP in Factions together? Why not keep track of the winners in Fort Aspenwood, in a manner similar to that of Alliance Battles, and have the results affect Alliance Battles? If the Kurzicks are winning, they get access to Gods' Vengeance, or something similar. If they are not, the Luxons get an advantage. Other effects based on the Jade Quarry could also be applied.
Not only does this make things interesting as they are all related, but the other much-deserted arenas such as the Jade Quarry will also have regular visits as players will try to gain the special bonuses from that arena.
Eg of benefits:
- Kurzicks holding Aspenwood results in X amount of damage to every luxon every 30 seconds in AB
- Kurzicks or Luxons holding Jade Quarry results in a permanent speed buff in AB
Glad to hear ideas

If it increases popularity of FA and Jade Quarry then sounds like a good idea. People always seem to be complaining about the relative number of players vs afkers.
Could make AB more fun too.
/signed, with provision that AB bonuses are tweaked somewhat

One big flaw:
One of the 2 gets the Jade Quarry bonus and just makes sure that nobody does the mission again so the other side can't take it back again.
Sure something should be done about both competitive missions. But i don't think this is a solution.

Pretty simple... perhaps, something like "For 30 minutes, the Kurzicks/Luxons have this advantage." So that if they abandon the mission, they lose the bonus after 30 minutes.
/signed on this one. Jade Quarry was fun, I'd like to do it again someday.

Something must be done so people go to Jade Quarry.
Anything would do.
The 'hold' could go just like outposts.
The 'losing' side gets the advantage.
The advantage for Aspenwood:
For Luxons, it could be to have two extra Luxon NPCs escorting each turtle party.
For Kurzicks, it could be one extra NPC in each door.
I would also make so if the Luxon side lose all outposts, they lose before the Vengeance of the gods.
For Jade Quarry, the advantage would be +25% movement sped... for carriers and haulers, not for players.
And also make that each side lose if all NPCs are killed.
Winning with the 'advantage' would mean to have extra faction points upon winning.

The structure of Jade Quarry is fun - but there is no one ever there. I have discussed getting enough active players interested to just do guild events where we play against each other from the two sides. Another option would be GvG matches in quarry instead of GH.

You mean linking FA and JQ to AB by giving bonuses? I don't really think that's such a bad idea, but I wouldn't want to see extreme bonuses. Just a new NPC or two might be fine.
Anything to bring back JQ.
I had a friend from school tell me about a feature in Castlewars in RS where they keep track of which side has won how many games since some time. It'd be nice if we could see which side in FA or JQ has won so many times in the past 24 hours or something.

No for any additional effects in AB. There is already map advantage for AB and there really doesn't need to be anything more than that. However, advantages in FA or JQ wouldn't be so bad. Actually, I'd say in FA it might change things for the better it seems to be easier on the Luxon side the several times I played it. Others might disagree however.

As for the comments regarding the degree of the effects, I'd say any degree would be fine, as long as it gives the players a good enough reason to go back and play FA and JQ... ah... the good ol' days of putting EoE as a luxon near the Green wall in FA, and gunther dying without the wall breaking
