This build only need 5 corpses to have full 10 minions. You may not like the samll amount of micro management with Malign Intervention and Verata's Gaze. But you will get use to it. You can certainly switch out some skills if you want. You can trade out Healing Ring for Blood of the Master, but I have found I only need to heal them in between battles. For when I am in battle I can replace minions easily. If you do change out Healing Ring you can transfer those points from Healing Prayers into Soul Reaping or Curses for Barbs, which would replace your Rebirth. Also sometimes you may want ranged minions and I would swap out Animate Bone Horror for Animate Bone Fiend. It's a pricey skill energywise though.
You can also modify the build for heros to:

At the risk of being called a PvX wiki nub, the necro/derv version works out well since you more or less just spam BotM with minimal consquence and very little fear of dying in most areas unless you run into massive enchant hate. I forget what it's called on there though.

Draw Condition, Infuse Condition, Animate Flesh Golem, Animate Bone Horror, Anomate Bone Fiend, Signet of the lost souls,Blood of the Master and Ebon Battle Standard of Wisdom. No rez for me, playing exclusivly with Hero. Work great, remove condition from an ally to you. If mass Condition, change golem for martyr and have fun :P

I run a meat sheild with some damage on mine
1. order of undeath / or golem to eat up some damage
2. vamp horrors
3. shambling
4. Bone horrors
5. dark bond
6 Heal area
7. Blood of the master
8. Res of some type dependin on area but usually sunspear sig
9. THis is kinda the optional thing cause I dont always bring dark bond or a res, some times i bring signet of lost souls cause its awesome.
Gives me a decent amount of options and works as a decent meat sheild taht can still do damage and OOU works aweome with vamps
