Troll - it's one of the terms on guru i STILL don't know...

A troll is somebody who posts with the sole intention of baiting other users with inflammatory comments to get an emotional response

Imagine the fairy tale stories about trolls - they are nasty, mean, and typically lurk somewhere waiting to unleash their unpleasantness upon an unsuspecting traveler.

Now, take that image and translate it into the context of an internet forum; a troll lies in wait for someone to post a topic or respond to one in a manner they disagree with. That "troll" basically just criticizes or makes fun of that other poster for no good reason - maybe they have a chip on their shoulder or just don't like the poster - but it's not constructive in any way...

For those to lazy to click links... Trolls/trolling is a general internet term, and isn't exclusive to GW. Its common in forums and is similar to flamming.
Trolls are people who insult and bash others just to rile them up. For example, somebody whose reply just says "you suck at life, die!" is a troll.

Trolls can also be more subtle. For example, somebody could post a thread in the suggestion forum saying "get rid of gold in GW and make everything free in the game." This person could also be considered a troll if he made the thread not seriously believeing his own idea and is just posting it to tick people off.

And there's your example of trolling.
