Laggin..

I am experiencing heavy lag for the wintersday and its cost me a hat! (I lost connection) Because of this i have to wait three more hours till another one starts and hope to god that it doesn't lag. Anyone else experiencing this same thing? And is there anything to fix it? I don't remember the same thing happening at haloween
