Hi, this is just a quick post which I hope others will add too, to thank Anet for yet another wonderful Wintersday. Sure, there was lag and some didn't like the hats (I liked them ) but overall it was a tops event and I know at least myself and my guild had a very enjoyable time.

Thank you Anet for putting up with this community, even through the times when they get hostile for a hat they didn't like. Thank you for the wonderful event and another year of wonderful gaming.

I personally look forward to 2008 with you guys, with Guild Wars 2 and beyond!

Yeah well no thanks for another lackluster holiday with boring quests, crappy decorations, more useless consumables, lousy finale event, and poorly crafted headgear.

just kidding! All of those things I mentioned - A #1! Great job, guys!

Thanks ANET for bringing us all to gather in the hundreds of LA districts where some of our comps spazzed out when accidentally loading the damn map :P

Happy Holidays everyone

Can't beat the original Yule hat (aka "santa hat") for looks, but these 2 were not good. I got them, tried them on, registered them, and tossed 'em.

I had a great time with the Snowman Lair quests. Tons of CC shards FTW! Thanks for adding them!

And thanks to the players who worked to make this an enjoyable event, the one's who didn't get bent out of shape anytime anyone asked a question and took the time to explain what was going on to new players. Plus, I've gotta give props to the [MEOW] crew for putting on the "snowman summoner extravaganza" in Ascalon City last night. Over 2,000 summoners got fired off within 10 minutes. It was a hoot! (but I'm easily entertained )

Yeah, good job a-net, I enjoy the big events like this. It was also easy to farm tons of candy shards, and convert them to presents to get free alcohol, sweets and consumables. I got loads more presents just for showing up at the finales - twice every three hours (a couple of times, I was able to get all my presents in Lion's Arch, then zone to Kamadan and get another full load). I'm working toward my drunk titles so I saved a LOT of cash.

I don't know why everyone thinks the hats are so bad - I think they're cool, and as event hats go, I think they're among the best (I never saw the original designs so I had no expectations, and nothing to be disappointed about).

BAH, HUMBUG! Positive comment retracted, because you've gone and wrecked the event by sticking an ultra rare mini into the mix and not even bothering to tell us it was there.

this years was kinda lame compared to last year and the one before that. i farmed and farmed, trying to get more CC shards, but lootscaling really hit hard. also, the finale was nothing "big"...it was like wam, bam, thank you maam. Thank you for the neat graphics and quests and such...but in the future, PLEASE remove holiday items from lootscale.....or atleast increase their drop rate. 100g per ccshard? o.O

Thank you Anet for a fun event.

No, I'm not overly fond of the headgear this year, but it's the thought that counts. (The wreath would be better if it weren't PINK! *groan*)

Yes, I had some lag, but sh*t happens and no one is perfect so no hard feelings from me.

Thanks for the fun quests in the snowman dungeon, I really liked doing those (again and again and again).

Again, thank you Anet for another fun Wintersday event.

Was a fun event like always. I always enjoy having these types of things. The only drawback I saw to the weekend was the insane amts of lag experienced in the game because of the loads. Overall though, loved it.

A suggestion for future holiday drops, Candy Cane Dye. Would dye your armor red and white striped.

Appreciated from me too. Really, I don't care about getting hats, or any of that stuff. I just like the atmosphere of it all.

The festivities, the silly little side games, the snowball fights, the heavy drinking, the lights, the treats.

Beating up the genchies, opening gifts, festive Charr pulling with my Candy cane bow to roast Charrnuts on an open Vekk Fire

Summoning snow men on top of hip grinding warriors who stand in front of my face heh.

Getting hit in the back of the head with snowballs from NPC's, pigging out on DP removal candy canes in dungeons, dying my armor Red and White, and forming Death Metal Elf bands in Ascalon around Grenth.

It was my second Wintersday and I loved it like my first. So thank you

Thankyou for yet another fun event...

My guildies and I had great fun participating in many of the games. It was my first Wintersday Event and I had no idea how many little quests and games there would be.

I particularly enjoyed the quest to find the presents with Rudii, his red nose made me lol. And that poor dwarf caged up in Kamadan that would get killed but then cruely resurrected to be killed again and so on.

The main event was fun also and I was very shocked when we were killed for supporting Grenth OK so I lost my first two hats to the lag/spike/err/crash thing but I got them again later.

All in all a happy player...

Happy New Year,
Keep up the good work.

Edit: Very sad how few of the guru commnity will give 1 minute of their time to give ANet a litle thanks every now and then but so many will spend hours wining.

Thanks from out here, too; I liked the hats, and I got a ton of presents this year that yielded lots of goodies. As always I loved the decorations and got a few screenshots, it was good times and some of the quests were fun to do to decompress from crazy family stuff.

Thank you very much Anet!

The decorations and environment modifications in the towns make me happy. Oh! And I saw that snowman hiding up in the tree! I thought that was cute, made me giggle. I also like reading the stuff npc's are saying to see if they say funny things.

I still think there should be a library in our HoM for books, to keep as memories. I would love to put my Zho's Journal in there, I liked the story. Maybe something like that can be done with other GW things. If not a book about creating other mini's, then maybe books that drop like tomes do, but are storybooks about GW history, events, or even about our characters. That way our descendants can read how great great great great gr----....grandma Ahlia quested lots for a mini polar bear...didn't get it but did become a drunk woman hyped up on sugar like the other person in this thread. *giggles* My book can have missing pages for all the other quests except for Strength of Snow which got completed xxx times! :P

Oh! And I liked being able to sneak into 'Candy Cane Jail'. >.> I also liked all the silly talk with other members of the GW community while picking up presents or just standing around and waiting for the events to start. Some things we don't do enough of since usually it's trade spam or we just talk amongst ourselves in our guild/alliance chat, but maybe sometimes not with strangers in local chat. I also liked how Gaile visited the districts in LA too! I had thought she'd only go talk in dist 1 but she was in mine which was 6, I believe at the time. And later on when I changed districts, there were others talking excitedly about how they heard she was in dist 78 or something. I mean, some people might not think that's a big thing since we've been here a long time and have seen Gaile around at one point or another, but it's so different seeing clueless beginning players all excited like that. 'I saw someone named Gaile and she wrote in purple!' And then people saying stuff like 'yeah, she comes around a lot to speak to us, especially during events' and then the other person all in awe like 'o.O...people that work/made the game talk to us..?' Which got me thinking...are we spoiled because people at Anet do that, or do other games do that to? And if they do, well well I don't care because they pay monthly fees and I don't so I still win. :P

I'm sorry...I rambled. >.<

*awkward silence* Um..*speaks quickly* Ok, I love you buh bye! *runs away!* :P

It was loads of fun
Last year I did all the missions with all characters, this year I just rescued the reindeer and destroyed the snowman etc a couple of times.

The missions with the snowball skills were as much fun as ever and a much greater chance of shards and frozen ectos, those I repeated again and again.

Still sad that the necro special skill is suicide which might have value in a team game but for solo missions it sucked.

Thanks for all the eggnog and snow see you next year
