Yea I had trouble doing the 4 man Vanq'ing and HM Missions on my Ranger.

People recommended to me that I just take 2 SF ele's and a monk with me but to be honest I never found this to be over successful and was actually rather slow.

Your best bet as a Ranger would either to go as some form of Stance Tank (Or Ursan if you have it) or bring [skill=text]Barrage[/skill].

Tanking allow's you to bring a SS Necro, Nuker Ele and a Monk which is probably the most common and reliable set up for the 4 man areas. Its pretty reliable and can tear through mobs like no tomorrow but you may it slighty repetative and boring (I do lol) and Rangers dont make the best tanks (but they can still do it). Your best bet is probably Ursan (even though its quite lame it works well).

Barrage would replace the nuker or SS Nec. You would have to bring in a Hero Warrior to tank and this can require quite a bit of micromangement (although lets face it Barrage doesnt require much attention so it should be easy enough). The nice thing is both the Necro and Ele have something that can help buff your Barrage. Depending on which one you decide to drop the skills differ. Consider bringing [skill=text]Mark of Pain[/skill] or [skill=text]Barbs[/skill]. Both these skills increase the damage you do while using Barrage and they also compliment your Warrior hero if he's using skills such as [skill=text]Cyclone Axe[/skill]. The ele can bring [skill=text]mark of rodgort[/skill] and providing you have a Firey bow string you can deal out a mass of degen.

Oh yes almost forgot. [skill=text]Broad Head Arrow[/skill] can be simply amazing in some of these areas, I found Char Shaman quite annoying at times, especially in 2's and found BHA could really help when I got into a sticky situation. Best to check wiki or something and see what exactly your up against before going in and workiing out which elite is best to use from that,

But its really up to you

Hope this helps.

i did ALL 4 man areas for ALL the campaigns with Sab's 3 necro setup. BTW i did this as a ranger, i used BHA as my elite, brought no pet. the only problem is the first kill, but survive that, its all she wrote and its a cake walk. here is the link for the nero build. http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10200851

Seconded... The necro team works well for a ranger. Bring BHA+Epidemic. The only problem area is the one with the grawl groups in Eastern Frontier. It's hard to out damage those monks and they seem to be particularly kite happy. They also like to position themselves far apart so epidemic doesn't hit them both. I feel great shame in admitting I went R/P Ursan to beat that area... still used the neco team though.

Just mod the team to include a bit more enchant removal... I added a 2nd enchant removal to the curses necro and he was able to remove healing hands when I needed him to.

My Ele has finished most of the tyria 4 man areas (Haven't tackled Diessa Lowlands yet). Like the others said, Sab's Wonder Necros are miracle workers. The worst area was Eastern Frontier. Those grawl are a headache, but I got thru them by killing enough devourers in the area to build up the minion army and then careful pulling of just a few grawl at a time. (Watch for patrols too)

Hmm, I did Tyria before GW:EN and Sab's build. I was a mesmer, took an air ele with Epidemic (blind + weakness ftw!), a hybrid monk and the 4th slot was optional depending on the zone. I think I had a MM in the 4th slot most of the time, either Necro or Rt/N.

With all the blocking (gawd I hate those devourers even more now than ever) I opted for something a little unconventional for vanquishing ascalon..... a toucher. I know, it sure was funny though. With toucher heroes...

Run builds as described above plus 2 hench - start from Yaks and go to Dragon's Gullet, clearing every map as you go. Start over and go to Eastern Frontier. There will be no more 4 man zones left after that
