Link Hero level with Character level?
Tyla
Okay, so you have had that occasional mission in pve where you NEED a hero...but its not a high level so the hero gets his arse handed to him every second?
Well, heres my suggestion: Link Hero level with Character level, so say if you're level 20, all your heroes are level 20.
If you're level 10, all your heroes are level 10.
(For GW:EN, add the lvl 10-19 bonus on heroes too, unless its already on)
I think this will remove grind for people who want all their heroes to level 20.
And yes, getting to level 20 IS easy...but why not take a small amount of time out of leveling heroes?

I just got NF and brought 3 level 15 heroes into some GWEN HM Dungeons, they were like 20 before the night was done. You can also swap in low level heroes when getting rewards. Hell one heroes book should max them.

I agree, seeing as it's a pain to run around and level up all the heroes on your secondary characters. I already did it on my main, and my monk's heroes are horrible because of the need to level them.

I brought lvl 6 Monk from pre-searing. Using my second account, ran her to LA, then to NF. The heroes she got were lvls 11 & 15. Went back to beginning missions in Prophesies and did the missions and quests. They were lvl 20 by the time the Monk was lvl 17.

I guess all of us wanted that, but as someone mentined above, when you are ready to cash some reward, select the heroe's that you want to level up. There's enough quest's/missions out there to level them up.

What's wrong with how it is now?
Usually, a couple levels difference isn't going to make a great enough impact on your playing style to matter. Depends on what you're trying to run. But, if you really need a certain character, you'd play with it anyway and get it to 20.
All EotN heroes are 20. Nightfall heroes that aren't at 20 aren't going to set you back by much when you're usually in parties of eight.
Above posts have methods listed of easily gaining hero levels without playing with them at lower levels at all. Plus, low level characters that get higher level heroes would then be put at a disadvantage.
Plus, heroes become less attached to the character, because if someone with 6 non-20 heroes farms their way from level 10 to 20 without using them at all, and then suddenly brings them out, they're suddenly at 20 without having ever been used.

I'm usually a very pitiful level when I do this, and the heroes help me pull myself up to 20.
Even if your level is above your heroes', it's not that hard to do a bit of questing in GW:EN or Cantha and have them maxed in a matter of hours.

I think it should be harder to level up heroes. Too damned easy now.

My reasonings are this. When I'm pairing up with people, I dish out heroes to help this person or group of people. We have some empty spaces, I tell someone to bring heroes. No one has heroes that are close to level 20. Like, one guild member has five level 20's, and none of them have usable heroes. They're either unequipped, lack a build, or for the majority, aren't even level 20. Lack attribute points, and lack the ability to help! Henchmen aren't as good as heroes and everyone knows it. When you beat the game, any hero who isn't 20 should be maxed out. This would avoid grinding, but also make it so some effort has to be put into the game to get them to max.

If you know you're going to need them then you should take them out as much as possible so they level up. It's not like they're henchies that don't level up at all.

Well...guess you're right.
I don't often use those Heroes (e.g: koss because he loves the mobs) and stick with my usual 3.
Guess thats why i didnt see them level up on quests....

This is good so no level 10 can get GW:EN heroes to make Prophecies easier...
But is not good when you should have a level 2 Koss.
So the best solution is a mi with the current way and this way.
MAX level of the hero: Your level.
MIN level of the hero: His recruitment level.
You are level 10, you take a level 10 Jora.
You are level 20, you take a level 2 Koss.
