My restoration ritualist build
geaw
Well, i made this build as an alternative to Attuned was Songkai Ritualist healers. I posted it here to hear from you is it good or what you would change in it.
Rt/any Reclaim Essence Healer
Attributes:
Spawning Power: 12+1+2
Restoration Magic: 12+1
Skillbar:
[skill]Reclaim Essence[/skill][skill]Vengeful Weapon[/skill][skill]Mend Body and Soul[/skill][skill]Spirit Light[/skill][skill]Weapon of Warding[/skill][skill]Recovery[/skill][skill]Life[/skill][skill]Death Pact Signet[/skill]
Summary:
General purpose of this build is to make a good ritualist healing build without need to carry Songkai's ashes. Its for general PvE usage.
Usage of this build is simple: like most healers you try to keep your team alive. At the beginning fo battle you cast Recovery and Life. When fighting, use all healing skills like in other healing builds. When low on energy or your team needs a lot of healing just use Reclaim Essence in Life spirit. Dont worry, it has a 20s recharge which mean you will be able to summon it again in short amount of time.
Sorry for my english, i know it is not very good

Not a bad build by any means, and I have been favoring RE myself lately as it allows you to have more control over life's heal. Vengeful weapon has always been sort of meh in my opinion in terms of healing power. If you want an awesome heal, however, you could go with wielder's boon. Because you have weapon of warding in there anyways it could be of some use. I find that during life as a resto rit, however, I am for the most part using spirit light and mend body and soul.

My character is a Rt/M, but I usually don't play much of a healer and just bring along two heal spells and a resurrection spell. While doing Gyala Hatchery, though, I wanted to protect the turtles, so I made two healer builds, which I've had mild success with.
Medium:
12 Communing, 12 Restoration Magic, 6 Channeling
[skill]Spirit Rift[/skill][skill]Displacement[/skill][skill]Life[/skill][skill]Union[/skill][skill]Preservation[/skill][skill]Mend Body and Soul[/skill][skill]Spirit Light[/skill][skill]Lively Was Naomei[/skill]
I included Spirit Rift to cause damage during low-demand times for healing. Skills 2-5 I think are great for protecting the party. Displacement and Union block nicely, while Life and Preservation heal. The last three spells are the basic healing and resurrection spells I am fond of.
Witch Doctor:
12 Restoration Magic, 12 Healing Prayers
[skill]Healing Breeze[/skill][skill]Orison of Healing[/skill][skill]Life[/skill][skill]Preservation[/skill][skill]Protective Was Kaolai[/skill][skill]Mend Body and Soul[/skill][skill]Spirit Light[/skill][skill]Lively Was Naomei[/skill]
A build that utilizes my secondary profession as a monk, which is the major difference.
I personally think that ritualists can be every bit as good of healers as monks. What are others opinions on this: do you think ritualists can hold out as healers as well?
(And don't worry, your English is just fine. )

What about using Consume Soul with Life for a major party heal?
Also if I am going to take anything from the monk line its going to be hex removal which is something I do not have (rather take from mesmer line). And as we all know HoT spells are not worth it they just burn energy. I am also very much against Preservation the healing area is too small and generally gives a useless heal when it does hit someone. I much rather have WoR, or if I was to use Pres it may be in some weird channeling build that req a spirit and since its cheap and short recharge. If you are going to use that many spirits bring Spirit Transfer for the spike heal.
The comments are to the second set of builds posted not original.
EDIT: On the OP's build why not use FoMF since you have spec'd enough into resto?
EDIt 2: Sorry I tried Consume and the area is really small, but what I did is dropped Vengeful for Wor and put in Feast of Souls which does give a significant party heal.

I'd prefer 12 channeling and [skill]Offering of Spirit[/skill]
you can also take some damage spells then. Healing while throwing out a spirit rift out of then is pretty good.
@Lorus, Healing breeze and orison suck on a monk, even more on a rit. Preservation is also a crappy spirit

Quoted for Truth. If you HAVE to use a random monk healing spell, by far it should be gift of health.
Also, if you're specced into resto so much, what happened to:
Resilient Weapon
Weapon of Shadow
Weapon of Warding
Those 3 are just...better than HB since they actually help you prevent damage.
Preservation is just lame too =( If I had to use a crappy Resto elite, I'd probably go with SLW since at least I can control that healing...
Honestly, I just pump channelling, take OoS, Splinter Weapon, Ancestor's Rage, Mend Body and Soul, Life, Spirit Light, *utility skill depending on if the area is hex heavy or melee heavy* , and Death pack signet.

I should get some new ones, I just usually don't bother with my monks spells at all and play full Ritualist instead. Xiooua

Unless it's to bring along some hex removal, there's really no reason to bring any monk spells. Ritualists have plenty of viable restoration spells, there's no need to borrow healing spells from the monks.

Prot spirit is also handy in a pinch, there's no reason to bother with any of the red bars go up stuff, though.

holy veil is probably the only reason to bring monk skills.
as for preservation: it sucks. it used to be a nice, cheap and short recharge spirit to trigger skills as mend body and soul, and spirit light. However with nightfall other cheap spirits were added, thus making preservation not necessary Cebe

Though it's got a larger AoE than Spirit to Flesh, it still probably won't heal the overextending wammo. I favour [wiki]Feast of Souls[/wiki] when I want to use a skill like that. It's non-elite, has no specified range, and if I take more than one spirit on a resto build it's not hard to place Life far enough away so the second spirit wont be destroyed by FoS.
As far as Hex removal goes, [wiki]Expel Hexes[/wiki] works well on a Ritualist, it does mean however that you need to not use an energy management elite - for Hex heavy areas it can work very well. Terraban

It does unconditional damage and heals a bit. It will at least soften the blow of the damage. Even being wanded at will trigger the life steal. I like it. I often use it in the same manner as an RoF.
