This is a 2 part comment I guess.
seems like all the good weapons belong to warriors and monks (shields/swords) and just recently voltaic spear (which again monks seem to use). I'm at a point where I don't know what to buy next. I set some goals which was fun to work for (tormented, fows) and achieved them. now I'm kind of stuck. I don't want a crystaline sword or some fancy req8 shield because I don't use my warrior (at all) and my monk that much.
it'd look silly to use a sword/shield on a ritualist since you're holding items or a mesmer (which I re-made recently). Even the torment weapons (other than shield, sword, axe) are ok. armbrace just been gathering dust. it has no "wow" factor. My Ele is a pure raptor farmer which I don't care for and dont farm really and necro used to be 55 to farm but again what for?
so bottom line:
1. what awesome item do you try to get if you're not a monk/warrior
2. what are your goals to achieve if you're not title grinding?
I tried to get a title and it has no enjoyment really for me. I have zero maxed titles across 9 chars. also can't afford 1000's of ectos on a stupid mini
non warriors/monks + goals

The items that are used on the monk like the shields and swords work just as well on a non-monk. If you're looking for wands and staves, nothing for the monk is THAT special. My ele looks just fine in his shield and axe set.

If I could answer that question, my interest in Guildwars wouldnt be dwindling as fast as it is.
That is one of the problems with Guildwars these days: There isnt anything to strive for anymore.
Titles have almost zero value in gameplay.
Minipets are useless.
Weapons that used to be rare and highly sought-after are now commonplace.
In my opinion, one of the smartest things ANet could do would be to tell us the benefits that the Hall of Monuments will open for us in Guildwars 2. That way, we would have a reason to fill it, i.e. something to strive for.

I want to fill HoM armour section for all my characters. This is tricky in the case of my mesmer because there are so many lovely dresses. I made a 2nd mesmer but it's not the same... So I'm still contemplating this conundrum.
As for my progress on this:
Mesmer #1 (4)
Ritualist (3)
Monk (4)
Elementalist (4)
Warrior (1)
Dervish (2)
Ranger (3)
Necro (0)
Paragon (0)
Mesmer #2 (0)
My paragon gets nothing till she makes survivor... Half way to LS now. I think she will be the only one I get LS on.

My monk was collecting all skills, not just the elites for the title tracks. For a time she had a thing for Divine Staves (pre-inscription) and collected those. She also collected quite a few 15k sets as well as her FoW set. I also very much enjoyed the Protector and Guardian titles simply for the gameplay of doing them, even though you were looking for non-title related activities. I really enjoy running with her, just for the gameplay of it, not necessarily taking a customer along. Farming sometimes, again, for the gameplay, not power farming for hours on end. Joining random PUGs and helping out with whatever they are doing, come what may, as I'm simply doing it for the fun of it.
Granted, even alternating between those activities, as well as the many titles I've pursued, I've still gotten bored for long stretches of time. Happens.
