I got on my comp this morning and it was being a little weird, it was going into my user so I decided to go in another one. When i got in and clicked the client it was doing the usual repairing data archive that it does every now and then. Then it freezes up and I have to end task it and when i click it again it has like over 5k files to load and when i get into the game I got another 21k files to load. So the game uninstalled it self and then reinstalled :S. This is the first time anything like this has happened to me. Has this happened to anyone or know why it happened?

Never happen to me. Maybe it's just the way the game is fixing itself? Can you run GW as normal after it reinstalled?

Sounds like your gw.dat file has been corrupted. The "uninstalling" was likely caused by the game's own repair function being unable to make sense of (parts of) the file and deciding it needed to redownload the missing parts.

If the repair thing doesn't help, delete the gw.dat file, then run the game with the command line argument "-image" (no quotes). If the file keeps breaking afterwards and there's nothing else wrong with your computer the hard drive may be faulty.

I got the game working and it works fine after it reinstalled all the files. Hope it never happens again, loading all the places over again takes some time lol. Thanks for the help guys I'll keep it in mind if it does happen again :S.

Never happened to me. I agree with lordpwn, it's probably the repair trying to delete a few parts of the data file in order for them to be redownloaded.

If you can, try to get a copy of you C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\ folder on a DVD, and update it once in a while. This way, instead of going through a repair, you overwrite your gw.dat file and simply get the new updates since the time of burning it.
