Oldest guild

Hi,

As I can't find a list of guilds with their date of creation in guild wars, i post here to gather some intel?

I'm with the dutch Lowland Lions (LLL), founded on the 7th of januar 2005 during the early alpha/beta time.

Please post in here you're guild and the foundation date. I try to update the list to get an impression of which guilds are the oldest guilds alife.

Zealots Of Shiverpeak 5th March 2005 (reported as first on wiki)

Dynasty Warriors, as a guild, was created in July 2003 (but first beta was in nov 2004)

Lowland Lions (LLL) 7th januar 2005
Will Work For Beer [WWFB] January 8, 2005
Lords of Cabal [LoC] 20th february 2005
Scars Meadows [SMS] 10th may 2005
Omega Solution [oWo] 11th October 2005

The "Lords of Cabal [LoC]" were founded on the 20th of February, 2005 during the beta testing.

Been the leader of mine since May 10th 2005.

Omega Solution [oWo] has been around since October 11, 2005. Not the oldest but up there. Feel free to delete this post if the info isn't what you needed.

Zealots of Shiverpeak was the first guild I think. Ask Andrew Patrick to confirm.

Thats right, ZoS was the first guild ever, created by the devs for the devs.

i think a dev guild does not count. It's about the community, not the company!

the devs are part of this very community and ZoS isnt a dev only guild and is open to the community if it isnt full

Yeah, ZoS is the oldest guild. It's not just a guild of devs, there are normal players in it too. I believe we have a moderator in ZoS.

I think Zealots of Shiverpeak. Not only are devs in it, but if you look, the ZoS cape is worn by many of the players who are being recorded in some of GW's earliest gameplay videos, meaning they were around for some time.

The Charter Vanguard was founded on the 19th of May 2004, way before the game was launched. We might be among the oldest guilds.

Will Work For Beer [WWFB] January 8, 2005. The Lead guild in my current alliance. The guild leader says it was made before then when they all played CS.

Jeremy Untouchable is a moderator who is in ZoS, ask him.

You'd say the developers would know when the first guild was created, yet it still is claimed here other guild were founded way, waay before ZoS.
Although maybe there's a diffirence between first actual in-game guild and GW guilds created but not yet in game available.

Originally a Savage Guild, a lot of members showed interest in Guild Wars and Dynasty Warriors [DW] (the Guild Wars division) was created on 29th of october 2004. participating in the Beta Events with success, placing 3rd on the world ladder in April 2005 ( http://www.eerden.org/screenshots/gw...yWarriors2.jpg )

Although toned down and partially waiting for GW2, they're still active in-game (as PvE guild though).

The wiki has to be wrong. I formed the Lords of Cabal during the February 2005 beta event, and I know there were guilds before me. I am pretty sure the GWonline guild was also formed during the February beta.

Thanx all for this discussion. Some are puzzled, some are founded befor the release of the game (incl. alfa en beta time), some were also founded during those cs days.

I think that i should refrase my question:

Which guild is the second oldest guild created during alpha/beta or after release date. The devs had a headstart

It's fun to know, on the other hand a list of guilds with their creation date also, so keep on coming with these dates.

My Guild[DVDF] was formed 3rd of May 2005 and one of our Allies Angel sharks was formed on 29th Oct 2004
