Can you hold a Present?

I swear I've seen characters in Lion's Arch holding a Wintersday Present in their hands. But I can't equip them myself.

Can it be done or did I mistake an NPC for a person? Am I imagining things? Too much spiked eggnog?

Presents randomly appear on the floor in Lion Arch, Ascalon City, and Droknars Forge. You have to press on them to carry them and run them to kids. Erm, before the grentches come and blow them from you.

The present you see being held is the one that drops randomly around the town. The goal is for a player to pick it up and return it to a child (Young Child, amoung others) before the Grentchs catch you and explode it. You receive a present in your inv then for saving the present. In LA, people have found a way to trap the Grentchs and they are stuck in most districts, so you may often see someone just casually carrying a present around as opposed to franticly trying to get it to a child (which was the intent).

The presents that you see people holding drop randomly to the ground. If you pick one up, you have a short period of time to give it to a little child, before some Grenches come up and smash it. If you can get it to the child, they will give you a present in return. If you click on that in your inventory, it will become a random item (Christmas gift, crafting material...) from in game.

EDIT - Apparently I am the slowest typist out of the three of us. First day back at work ugh...
