Scamming on runs however, that's not nice. Pulls down the trust in the community (yeah, I laugh at myself sometimes).

the trust in the guild wars community is still the best in any MMO i have ever played. I have seen a total of maybe 10 scammers in my 1 year of playing GW, compared to other games where you see them every day.
but, i agree that anet needs to make some changes to the report system.
i reported some guy for racism, and in turn i get banned for an innappropriate name.

It's just that Anet never has taken a stance against scams like that.
Those types of scams are extremely easy to avoid and do not qualify as a serious violation. It's mentioned in the wiki too.
It's the same as if player A gave money to player B and then waited for player B to come back with an item in exchange for money already given, but player B never returns.
Anet wouldn't do anything about that.

OP said his character's name wasn't meant to be offensive, but he could see if someone had a dirty mind they could think of a way to pronounce it in order to sound like a bad thing.
People are being suspended a lot now for that.
Heck in Everquest a friend of mine had her name suspended and she had to change it. It was Ytea.
