Most important chapter 2 question (IMO)
Rhuobhe
Will people who buy Chapter 2 be able to play (in the ch. 1 world) with people who do not buy Chapter 2?
Does anyone know if Gaile addressed this? Maybe someone could ask next time she (or the frog) is online...
I would hope that we can still play with our friends who decide not to buy Ch 2...

It's already been answered. Yes, people in Chapter 2 will be able to play with people in Chapter 1.

In my experience of expansion packs, friends who do not buy it will not be able to go there, so your friends will be in ch 1 only...you, on the other hand, would be able to play in both.

the size of these *common areas* has yet to be determined.
the official site statement
Quote:
Will I remain competitive if I do not buy the chapters? Will I be able to compete with and against others if I have only some of the Guild Wars chapters? Yes. Purchasing the newer chapters of Guild Wars will not make you strictly more powerful. You will have access to many more strategic options, due to the expanding nature of the skills, abilities, items and professions that you enjoy with each chapter. It would be similar to building a deck in Magic: The Gathering™: The more cards you own, the greater the number of different playing decks you can choose to play. When you buy the chapters of Guild Wars, you will acquire a larger collection of skills and abilities from which to build your skill set, but you will not gain more power. So if you purchase a chapter and your friend does not, you will still be able to play competitively against and with one another. |

The only important question is whether I get to tame my vorpal bunny of doom in chapter 2. All else is irrelivant!

Thanks for answering the question. This is good news.
awesome sauce
I heard that they're going to increase levels in chapter 2. How's that supposed to work?

STATEMENT
They said they are considering raising the max level, as 20 means little improvement.
ANSWER
Quote:
Exact opposite, actually. We have no intention of changing the level cap at the current time. The level cap has been set at 20 for a long time, and much of the game is designed around that level cap. |

Will a collector's edition be made available at the same time as the normal one? If chap 1 was to be a reference, it actually came out later which was quite a bummer.

it would be logical to have both released at the same time.

And I thought I was the only one who played that game

But in case anyone in Anet read that last statement and started having some evil ideas, NO IT IS NOT GOING TO WORK AGAIN THIS TIME!

Yeap, we won't have high AL armours, thank goodness
Daena
Yeah, just new armours and new weapons I cant wait!
I'm especially intrigued about Gaile saying something about boats playing a definite role and the possibility of mounts.
Also Gaile mentioned city clothes.. which is a great idea, but hell im gonna need a lot more inventory space then!! hehe
And new pets/pet possibilities! I still want a Coldfire as a pet, but im not sure that's gonna happen...

DO YOUR RESEARCH!!! I knew this in March 2005 FFS - Before I even ordered the game.
JESUS!!!
Sorry if that was offensive to some people - but I had to say it - it was welling up side me, I just had to vent that.

New Weapons? Check
boats and mounts? um..not heard anything conclusive or either suggested that this was going to be added in chapter 2. Im not against boats or mounts per se...just not sure how it would work for the GW universe.
City clothes? check..I heard about that one and I like that idea...which should mean more storage space to keep those city clothes.
New pets? Check I like my stalker, but I REALLY WANT to have a lvl 20 attack bunny from presear.

BTW I did do my research, I did go to guildwars.com, but I did not find anything. Not exactly easy to come up with a search argument for that type of question either, and as you can see I even had a bit of trouble phrasing the question in 1 line.
