My Current:

Processor - AMD Athlon 64
Model - 3000+
Socket - 939
Frequency - 1800MHz
L2 Cache - 512KB

My Order:

Processor - AMD Athlon 64
Model - 4000+
Socket - 939
Operating mode - 32/64
Frequency - 2400MHz
L2 Cache - 1MB

I feel i've made a spontaneous stupid order even though it was a bargin at £35.($69)

Was it worth it?

Not really, although you probably wont really notice the change. I would be more worried about if your MB would accept the faster processor.

It's not a bad processor, certainly better than what you were on all it's not a huge step forward and still leaves you a good two years behind.

Personally this weekend i went from a AMD 4000+ to an intel Q6600

For the money it's not that bad and you'll probably get a bit longer out your PC before you'll want to do a complete upgrade.
