Drop Rate

I've read all about Loot scaleing. How about drop rate? Is there a "drop code" allowing only a certain amount of kills for a single type of enemy?

A guy in temple of ages told me to only do 5-10 runs of solo tomb runs. Then do a mission. After completing go back and do some more runs. He advised this routine because of a "drop code" ?

I still think it's random. Would be easier to believe theres is a code sometimes though right? One day I did an hours worth of solo tomb runs(9 kills on ecto droppable enemies) and got an ecto every other run. Another day i got 1 ecto after 6 hours worth of solo tomb runs(each run in 3 min 50 seconds). And today i got zero ectos out of 3 hours(but 4 golds).

Did some trials too : Six 9 kill runs(54 kills in all) produced 25 loot, 5 of which were blue, 2 of which were purple. Six 3 kill runs(18) produced 4 loot, one of which was gold. No ectos in this roughly 45 minutes worth of solo tomb farming.

Anyone want to help me out? Throw an answer at me or some facts/opinions?

After an hour of waiting in nighfall, i went back to temple of ages, did two 9 kill runs and got 6 loot , 1 of which was an ecto , a blue , and a purple. Still looking foward on that imput though.

Dont know bout tombs, but i do runs in uw and the drop rates are totally randomized. I`ve heard bout so called "drop code", but i don`t think that it is being implemented or that it even exists. For example - in 5 runs i get one to two ectos for each of the first two runs, than two runs with no ecto at all, than one to four ectos in last run (even dual ecto drop occures), and i go farming uw every single day at least once or twice. Although i noticed that when i go farming gates of kryta in hm drops are much better after a few days of not going there at all..

anyone out there have some more imput to add?

I know from experience that there is something like a ATC besides loot scaling.
When I did the elemental farm in the hidden city for the first time (with loot scaling) about half the creatures dropped stuff, a few runs later this is 1/4 untill you get only 3 drops on 20 creatures.

drop code has been removed from the game with the same update that added lootscaling... if i remember correctly...

Well here's a little something interesting that is going on with me. I used to do a max of 5 runs a day in UW. Would get anywhere from 4-6 ectos a day. Then I would go do some missions and come back the next day. This went on for about a month straight. NOW ever since wintersday came along "not saying this is the problem" I go to UW 5 times a day for 3 days and I get 0 ectos......dont know why. So I figure I have the drop code on me. I then proceed to do some missions and not go to UW for one week. So basically I go and beat NF, do some wintersday quest, help a few friends and then say ok lets go try now. I do about 10 runs and I get 0 ectos............ =(
I dont really think that this is random or a streak of bad luck.
I have all the games so I figured then maybe its just because I go to UW in NF.....so I proceed to Prohp. and go to the temple of ages, do about 5 runs....nothing, no ectos.....I have official given up on getting ectos and I have no idea how some people in the game have 2000-3000 ectos.....it baffles me. =(
