Good morning,
A quick question on skills. I am now movng into the Crystal Desert where I can begin capturing some elite skills. Since I have to pay an increasing cost for each Signet of Capture that I buy, I am concerned about the monetary drain for skill hunting. Is there a cap on the cost of new skills? If so, where does it top out? Do experienced players typically go for every elite they can, or do most folks just pick and choose what they need?
Thanks,
James

The cost for skills, and signet of capture cap at 1k. For just general use people usually cap what they're going to use, or if they find they need it later on for a build go out and cap it then. The only people who go out and cap every skill in the game (which will cost you close to 300k) are those going for the title legendary skillhunter (cap all elites in all campaigns) Besides being expensive you'll also need some 290 unused skillpoints.

when i capped all the skill with my char, i had lots of problems with cash, but not so much with the exp.
if your still playing through the game it can benifit you to check wiki and spot some of the skill caps in the missions and cap those, some skills are harder to cap than others, those might be some good ones to get if you plan on going for elite skill hunter, if you arent intrested in the title just get what skills you need.

Yeah I remember being pretty skill point broke for a while. Everyone was out farmin for gold and I would go out for EXP.
Farming with scrolls usually keeps you up in the cash and skill points you need. If you have a good farming spot you SHOULD be albel to balance at least 1k per skill point.

it does cap out at 1k...i cap the elites that are useful, and others not so useful but are easy and near a town, just for the quick xp....i ONLY do this when i want to level tho, if i'm level 20 i dont skill cap unless i need an elite for the build, the desert is a great place to skill cap, also outside droks is a good place, not only talus but folly is also a great place as the grawl are easy to beat and its not TOO far out of your way

I've got both Tyrian and Canthan Elite Skill Hunter and every Necromancer skill, yet I still have over 130 remaining skill points. So, really, as long as you play a fair amount with the character, skill points aren't a problem. If you do have trouble, farming in HM or with Scrolls is always a good way to get exp.
Money on the other hand, can get tricky if you want to go for skill hunter. Usually when I go cap a skill, I avoid fighting as much as possible. As a result, I rarely get more than 200g from a single cap run.
Still though, farming is always a good way to make money, whether or not you're going to spend it. Consider finding a reasonably easy but valuable (10k or above is good) item to farm.
