Things you would like to see during Canthan New Year

LOL, a friend of mine and I went to quite a few of the events, storing a lot of them pigs (I had up to 12 of the little runts), because we thought they were going to go up in price..... needless to say it was a BAD move, and we got so pissed that we tried to unleash the fury of the pigs upon an unsuspecting Ascalon...meh, it didn't work

Fireworks and a Mini Rat. Not to mention the obligatory boardwalk games I never attend. Though... a new Boardwalk game would be fun!

Save the GW2 hints for Dragonfest, so they can continue the tradition of the '06 festival.

<3 5 minute alcohol. If they keep the 240 collectible quest chain, I'll be an Incorrigible Connaisseur after the event. The rest I honestly don't give a damn about.

Edit: Used. Got 17 plat and one pig, and about 180 fireworks. Kinda disappointing, really.

I'd like some news on whether the event will return, to be honest. They would probably need to create new content for the finale, after all.

They had their little "acting" thing last year...

...this year? They should litter the quests, rewards etc with the word "fail", occasionally qualified with the terms "epic" or "massive" or "you", just to take the piss out of the forum rats.

"Fail Tokens"... when nobody wins the rings, "Haha, you all fail"... if you screw up the missions, "Your party failed utterly"... you get the drill.

Really I wouldn't mind canthan new year being a replay of last year but with rats of course. Mini pets, fortunes, quests, boardwalk games, races, dragon arena. In my opinion it has the most activities. To be honest Canthan new year is my favorite in-game holiday and the only way they could turn it into an epic failure is by not having the event at all.

Wrong festival buddy. That was the Dragon Festival. The first Dragon festival was supposed to be some once every 1000 year thing, but we got a second one because they were reenacting the defeat of the demons that ruined the first dragon festival or something like that....

The last new year was the cooking one with the ingredients and we had to feed the celestial pig.

I hope this time its going to be spread the pestilence for the rat. See how many towns you can bring disease to.

Oh and a mini rat. And I hope the mask is a big ugly rat head.

For those who don't remember or getting confused with dragon festival, Canthan New Year did NOT have any boardwalk games, monistary ovelook was open, but it only had a guy launching his pig into the sky, into a bucket of water.

First make sure the top 100 are actually 100 DIFFERENT people this time...

New quests, Miniature Rat, Rat-like mask, and honestly, I can't think of what to add. I'd rather them surprise me.

I have no idea if Roller Beetle racing occurred during this event, nor do I remember when that shit occurred. But I suggest that there be roller beetle racing, and then make sure it never leaves the game again.

Things I'd like to see under the Canthan new year?
Hmmm... Tough choice, but I guess my choice has to be "Rihanna naked".


EDIT: OK, OK... Seriously, what I'd like to see is event-quests which require winning in Jade Quarry and Fort Aspenwood.

It wasn't epic fail - it was the best damn festival bonus they've given. Just because you can't sell it for a fortune, doesn't mean people didn't love them.

I could see room for minor adjustment - provide some ingredients in a winning district, to get the prize, for instance. Lack of participation was a problem last year, with many districts losing, so a little incentive to participate might help.

Personally, I think the Polar Bear fiasco was a helluva lot more /fail than the pig.

A day of mind numming collector item farming ftw. Man we had 2 - 3 alliance groups farming them all day long. It rocked

I'm looking forward to a 9 ring event but guessing the lag draw backs will make it unlikly. Besides I would have to keep my char in their and not take part in the events.

all i really want is my mini rat, and a dye-able hat, hopefully something with a nice asian theme. (see lion mask) i wouldnt mind some nice little things (as suggested, lucky points for kills with lucky aura, though it would make farming of areas with crazy large easy mobs a definate.) maybe something like unlucky aura that gives unlucky points? my unlucky title is much higher than my lucky title.

- Making out of Rollerbeetle Race finally a permanent Minigame (must be unlocked through a new cross continantal quest)
LAso by making this long quest, the player will be then able to unlock more and more new race tracks all over the world of Tyria, up to an amount of like 18 different race tracks

- Dragon Arena

- Dragon Polonaise (with a huge long Chinese Dragon running through Kaineng City and following that Chinese Dragon Polonaise will grant players in a randomous pattern event items, alcohol and food
(with a new nice festival soundtrack playing extra for the polonaise, that sounds chinese)

- Minipet Rat (which can climb up the bodies of their holders, sitting on their Shoulder, *happens only, if you stand still and move not*)

- Lots of animated Silvester Fireworks (including ways to receive firewoks event items ect. naturally anf giving those items finally a sense, by letting them give us Lucky/Unlucky Points for usage, including also the Winterday Fun Items

- Naturally changed Town Skins for Kaineng, Shing Jea, Kamadan and Lion's Arc

- New Event Quests for this Event

- A new Event Hat, for example a shiny Celestial Mask

- Tripple points for Alcohol/Food for the event time, so alc that gives usually only 1 Minute, will give then for the event, hwile its running, 3 Minutes...
alc that gives normally 3 Minutes, would give then 9 Minutes.
But with the normal waiting time...

- 9/16 Rings for Lucky/Unlucky Points, requirering Moon Medals, which drop, are given out by quests ect.

- the implementation of the rest of new weapons of the contest winner items *especially that Dragon Shield*

- Implementation of a new Minigame * I want a Card Gme Minigame ^^ similar for example to FF8's Card Game*
This can b surely made also with GW, giving each different monster a drop chance to let them drop their version of their card.

Also these cards could have more effects, then being only part of a Card Game Minigame.. maybe those cards could then also be attacked to Weapons/Armors as new kind of "upgrade" to give our equipment new powers (pve only) somethign similar like in RO, where you can use Cards of Monsters like upgrades and put them into Slots (has also something of FF7's materia System XD)
But i would find it awesome to ha a Card Game Minigame, the new Canthan New Year Event could be used as introduction of those cards.

*Thinks of Fenrir Card, Stone Scale Kirin Card, Saltspray Dragon Card, Cynn Card and so on XD*
ya, there would be also naturally also card,s that are NOT dropped by monsters, but could be only received via playing the Card Game with certain NPC's trough winning...

As said, the game should be similar to FF8's Card Game ^^


Theres so much, what would make this Event awesome, but in otherway...a lagless event is also good, with Minipet Rats alone
