Gold drops from chests
gameshoes3003
Ok... what I mean literally is GOLD GOLD drops from chests.
You open a chest, yay 250 gold! or more...
Sure it may inflict with getting a gold weapon drop, but I thought it could jazz up the game a little bit.

Treasure Chest, Do Not Touch, and Buried Treasure ftw tbh.
Witchblade
yeah sure use a pick and get 200 gold.. >.<

So basically you pay 600g+ for a key...to get 250g? I'm sure that would jazz up the game.
People chest run for two reasons: to farm treasure hunter/wisdom or to attempt to get an uber rare drop. People will be less likely to chest run if small amounts of gold started dropping from chests.

So... use a 1.5k lockpick to get 250g from a chest? When some gold items can be sold to the merchant for 400g+ already? AND... iding gold items adds points to a title.
So... the point?
So... the point?

But no, unless the chests were unlocked, or the gold dropped with a weapon from a chest, I'm /notsigning this.
MithranArkanere
I would only agree to this if those gold drops over 200 gold replaced purple drops under 200 gold.

Basically, what you're asking for, is for the price of keys to drop?

Mmm, no thanks. Elona already has treasure areas that pay out a bit of gold, I could merch the keys I use for more than the handful of g you're suggesting, and I have to /notsign anything that lowers the odds of getting a gold item out of the chest even more. :-\

After reading these posts, one question is burning in my head.
Why are you assuming that the chest is only going to drop 250 gold?
Who said it was going to be 250?
Well.. maybe the first post, but I said it could be more. I never said you'd get 250 on a high-end chest.

Nah. Hidden treasures in dungeons and the treasures in elona drop gold already. Doing quests and soloing pretty much anything gets you gold every single time (for free). Why put it in a chest that you need to use a key/lockpick for? Doesn't seem all that exciting really.
Croco Clouds
/unsigned, The chest should give back a lockpick in return with +1 treasure hunting point
ValaOfTheFens
No thanks. It wouldn't hurt for chests to have a change to give you some gold in addition to whatever is inside though. Of course it would hardly be worth it outside HM. Never gonna happen though.
Sheena Inverse
Only if it gave some gold in addition to the gold item. Other than that

Its not THE worst idea ever, but not much point to it imho, even if the amount was higher and variable... unless of course we are talking about oh say a random in the range of 2-5k instead of a gold item, then THAT would be ok.
