DoD bonus

What is the best way to get the bonus for Dunes of Despair as an elementalist?
Tatile
Join up with N/Mo or Mo/n with Necrotic Traversal and rebirth. See if there's a guildie that needs the bonus, or to map out that area. It can take a while though.
The Meth
You can also either split up and have 2-3 people defend the ghost while the others do bonus, or have all players defend the ghost until the last wave at about 3-4 mins left then go do bonus. Second option is probably better if you are doing HM since it puts a lot less strain on the individual players to do their part perfectly.

It's better if you do it in two sections. Complete the mission as you normaly do, and restart the mission to do the bonus only. Have one of your heroe's take Necrotic traversal (I used my monk) and once I aggroed some spiders? (cant remember what they are) use the NT to move your monk outside the area. move your monk close to the entrance of the first bridge. get yourself killed by spiders (do not attack them) and then use your monk to rebirt you to the other side. This is easy!!
I almost forgot, do not kill the enemy ghost. Just leave your ghost hero in the bridge.

Getting killed up the Jade Scarabs can be rather hard, so I pulled out about 5 different Vampiric Weapons out of storage. It takes longer, but is garunteed. To Necrotic Traversal, a corpse is needed, which is where the Scarabs come in.

Unfortunately, the OP doesn't state what his secondary is (probably Me rather than N) and what chapters he owns (no NF/EotN, no heroes).
IF you have a necro secondary and IF you have heroes then THIS is the tried and trusted way to do the Dunes bonus:Take Necro secondary and [skill=text]Necrotic Traversal[/skill] Fight through the enchanted at the drawbridge IGNORE the enemy ghostly Run to the back gate overlooking the first boss HOPE there's something fleshy in rangeKill it and necrotic down to the corpse
Flag H/H back to enemy ghostly so they kill it
Release flag - H/H will magically run to your location
That's it, done it dozens of times as a party trick. Usually takes 2 or 3 tries until there's a fleshy enemy in killable range, but it's very easy.

And btw, that makes it so you only do bonus.
In HM doing it twice would be boring. =p

You can kill the enemy ghost and bring your ghost to help kill the first bonus boss. Just dont go where the ritual is performed if the ghost is following u.
Caged Fury
Had necros but didn't have Necrotic Traversal unlocked on account, so did the bonus by splitting teams. Once ghostly started his altar thing, guildie and I went to different gates to meet the foes. We just fought them as they came. One of us returned to ghostly now and again to see if he was okay. We just pushed out from our gate to where the generals were and killed them without any problems. Despite getting the bonus, we had to do the mission a second time though. Not sure why we failed, ghostly was still okay when the counter hit zero.

You can kill the enemy ghostly hero, just make sure you leave your own ghostly hero away from the center shrine so he does not start capping it

People make way to much out of this bonus.
I simply take a standard WoH hybrid hero and flag him to the left and below the platform the ghost does his ritual on (Left when looking at it from the bridge, about where talkmora's build is on caged fury's screenshot) and just leave him there. You might want to bring some sort of block skill just to be safe btw.
Me and the rest of the group (bring a healer in this group as well) just head off to kill the bosses then after the first 4 waves of enimies are dead.
If your are dealing decent damage you should just be ending or killing the second boss when your healer you flagged back starts to take damage. Dont panic though, he can heal himself though it just fine. Basically just continue on and when you are done you almost always have enough time to do the regular mission as well.
One thing you do need though is have a decent damage output to take out the groups (especially that annoying 2 monk one). I ran a SS echo build when I did it with my necro and that worked great. A soul leach/backfire build is also great to stop those WoHs the monks have.
Now if you do it the transversal way that is certainly faster if you can get a scarab the first time. As torsken said though, it can take 2-3 tries to get a scarab up to kill and in that amount of time you could easily have done the mission and bonus my way I think.
Maybe just do both. See if theres a scarab and if not just do it this way.
