Gaarrhhh Help I'm blind

So, out of these two skills, which would you say is superior?
[skill]Weapon of Shadow[/skill] orrrrr [skill]Blind Was Mingson[/skill]
The use would be for support healing, general casting, etc.

Basically, you're asking what is the difference between a Weapon Spell that you can cast on an ally from a safe range, and a Point-Blank AOE Item Spell that exposes you to lots and lots of danger, until you drop it. Unless you have a build/armor that takes advantage of Item Spells, Weapon Spells are better. Put it on a Sin or Dervish for multiple blinding fun, and Faster Recharge spells and mods can reduce the drawback of WoS. Weapon Spells can't be stripped, but lots of things can make you drop your urn at a bad time, in which case, it's useless.

Generally speaking, Weapon of Shadow owns the crap out of Blind was Mingson.
Not only does it apply blind multiple times, effectively making someone immune to physical attackers for a short period, it's also able to save team mates, unlike Mingson which is effectively self-defense only.
That said, Mingson isn't totally without use - you can precast it so as to have another wave of blind ready on demand, dropping it instantly to save your ass - and i'd definately consider it on a support-type Rit in RA/AB/FA where your team mates likely suck and you need to haul your own ass out of trouble.
It's just WoS is more flexible.

The application of the blind condition isn't related to attacks (multiple or IAS) from your ally. You cast it on whoever is being attacked by melee opponents.

Weapon of shadow is a fairly awesome prot spell that's useful almost everywhere. Blind was Mingson is an "oh shit" spell for yourself that's really only useful in low-end PvP.

Weapon of shadow for me aswell...can be used as a "prot" spell on any ally = good
Coloneh
weapon of shadow ownz face

Well, that's pretty unanimous. Thanks fellas.

Oh sure, any ally can use Weapon Spells, but with that recharge, it's most efficient on a Sin or Derv. That's all I meant. With urns, only you can use it, and unless it's really good, it's pretty much a waste of a slot, and a waste of your weapon/focus. Weapon Spells BUFF your current weapon.
Dr Strangelove
Weapon of shadow is a good idea on anyone who's getting the crap beat out of them by physicals. It's pretty cool to preprot a physical with it before they run in. If a squishy is getting beat up, you throw it on them and make them invulnerable.

My bad, I meant physicals like Dr Strangelove already said. Might want to include Paragons with Spears then as well. And Ritualists with Spirit's Strength builds (-[skill]sight beyond sight[/skill]) and...etc
