There has been alot of talk latley about certain skills being usless, and certain class's mainly necros, having ONLY a hand full of true rolls in PVE and PVP. People saying that why are you using that elite its worthless, only these 3 elites are worth while.

I don't know man. You know I'm no expert. But I have been playing MMORPG's A long time. And every skills has its hay day.

There used to be a old adage in diablo 2.

What ever skill is currently considered BOSS for your class, you should stay away from. As soon it will catch the nerf bat, leaving you build worthless. Instead you should make a build around what ever skill is considered USLESS, as it is destined to be Buffed.

I find that this is not always true. And is more often only true in the beggining of a games life, which GW's is not At. But with GW:EN just released its possible that it may be true for a while longer.

And besides with the truly dynamic and new system that GW is using for skills. And the ability to hot swap secondarys and make PVP characters. You really gotta ask your self. Mabey this supposedly "NOOB" skill is only considered noob because one of us hasnt found its HOOK yet.

I TRULY belive that EVERY single ELITE in the game was brought in with ONE specific build in mind. its UBER build. Than they Anet team just left it to us to find it. Than once we do, and it gets popular. BAM nerf bat. and the elite goes back down to a reasonable power lvl.

So question is. All the elites that got ignored from day one. What were their builds? We just never found em. They are like little time bombs just waiting to be discovered by some lucky/crafty adventurer.

Useless elites are not "destined" to be buffed, because there are too many for them to worry about, and most of their resources and developers are currently working on gw2.

As for popular elites, wrong there as well. Many elites are popular because they are good, but not overpowered and needing a nerf. I'm thinking of skills such as cripshot and eviserate, which are unlikely to be changed again because they are very well balanced in their current states.

Primal Rage.
Withdraw Hexes.
[skill]Archer's Signet[/skill][skill]Primal Rage[/skill][skill]Withdraw Hexes[/skill]

Truly terrible, atrocious skills that no player with an iota of sense would touch.
Aside from being buffed something fierce, they're doomed to be little more than +1 to the Skill Hunter title.

Yes, you could theoretically build builds around them (stacking damage buffs on Primal Rage, Concussion spam with the Sig) but the resulting build will be bad.

GW offers 8 skill slots ----> leaves no room for 'cuteness'. It had better damn well be useful if it is to make the bar.

More chance of making crap Elites work in a Team build. As a Sin, I ran [skill]seeping wound[/skill] in a team containing a poisoning Ranger.

(...Still not worth it.)

While I don't believe that EVERY elite skill has a good use I do believe there are a large number of under-rated elites that can really shine if you know how to put together decent builds. And also a lot of elites that are shunned here can actually prove fairly useful if you know how to work them.

so all in all the OP has a point though he's not completely right.

You have to try primal rage with a 20% sundering hammer with Judes insight on you. Yes it is a baaaaad skill take away the disable and it would be a great one. Only reason I mention it is it sure is fun to go jotun on an opponent with no turning back. I use it just for fun and to say i have used it

Anyway i do mess around in RA with them to see if i can find a use most of the time i do not but it passes the time and is fun to do now and then
