Anyone else just get rolled back?

So, I was in GTOB, and me and my friend were trading some random crap from our inventory. After that, he logged off, and I died some of my weapons and added some inscriptions. After that, I went out to the zone, so i could see them, but I got kicked out with an error 40.

I couldn't log back on for about 5 minutes, and when I got back on, all my items were un-dyed, inscriptions were back off, and everything in my inventory was back to how it was earlier. I still had the traded items, but man, seems weird to get a 5 minute rollback.

Yes, I was leaving Sifhalla to Drakkar lake and I error=40ed out, and when I logged back in, I had lost the quest I had received 6 minutes prior to that, and everything that I had taken from the Unclaimed items menu and, IDed, sold, and stored (depending on the item) was all back in the unclaimed window. Was a little confused.

And yes, I couldn't log in for about 5 minutes after I got the initial error.

Interesting indeed...Don't see any purpose to it either, unless ANet found another exploit or somin.

Nothing has happened to me as of yet. However, in the last few hours, I've just been running around Random Arenas and GToB...so, I'll lose some minutes on the timer, is all, more than likely if it does happen.

Wonder what caused it?

Weird, I got kicked twice while salvaging some phantom residues (smite's poo-poo) to get some glittering dust. I was like "WTF? Are they going to ban me now for not buying my dust from a merchant??"

Any chance it might be due to....

Server Maintenance ?

I have to say, these last few days have been very, very unusually laggy for me. At first I thought it was the holidays, but it hasn't cleared up since then. I wonder if it might be related to the same issue?

I lagged for a short while, and a few guildies reported the same. None of us got kicked from the server. I thought my connection was going to go down on me again when I was lagging on GW, then I realized Vent was still working normally, and so was my web browser.. O_o.
