Vanquishing Charr Areas
Proff
I'm having a really hard time vanquishing the 3 charr areas, the aoe just destroys me even with flagging my heroes.
So I need tips on doing it with h/h and what vanguard skills are worth brining.

Sabway is pretty effective everywhere. Try the 3 necro heroes H/H.

I've tried it with 2 ele henches and the 2 monks, still get wiped a lot.

siege devourer?

Charr bunch up when first aggroed. Use this to your advantage with skills that hit AoE, but do not cause scattering. Take PvE skills to help, a few I can recommend are:
Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support
Summon Mursaat
Technobabble
Ebon Battle Standard of Courage
Great Dwarf Armor
Snowstorm
Herta is great for her wards, and Eve does some nice degen and battery work. Having a 'free' ally in the Assassin and Asura summons can help too, as they distract enemy fire, and deal damage. You can easily use the Siege Devourers, but they eliminate the use of PvE skills if going with hero/hench.

I found Dalada reasonably painless just using 3 necro heroes with me as a bsurge mesmer. It was among the harder vanquishes in GWEN, but perfectly doable. I DP'd out of grothmar the first time I tried at a mixed caster group (the one next to ooze pit). With wards, 2 healers, and 2 hard res I just couldn't get enough interrupts and aoe pressure to take them down with that same build. I eventually did it a couple of days ago as an ele ursan tank, and it was easy as pie. There are of course a few tough groups, but it's totally doable (again with 3 nec heroes). Just flag team a bubble away, aggro, wait until it's fixed on you, unflag and proceed - easy as anything.
For the big mob of rangers by the Siege Destroyer, pull the destroyer away first and kill it, then FAN YOUR TEAM OUT as much as you can. Ignite Arrows spam will own you hard if you don't. Once you have the siege destroyer you can pretty much stay in that - no need for Ursan.
Haven't done sacnoth - have LMoTN already so I doubt I'll even try.

Yeah, I've blown it on Grothmar a couple times now, last time I was down to the large group in the camp and a damn annoying bug ele boss. Of course I forgot to bring any form of consumable with me

IDK what I was doing wrong the last times but tried it again with sabway and a guildie and vanquished 2 of the areas no problem, guess I was unlucky that time.
Thanks for the replies.

The difference is having a guildie with you.
Henching the char lands is a pain, there's no other way about it. Necro team worked for me, though I did use some honeycombs.

What about el Molotov Rocktail?

fan out so the worst he does is kill one party member with siege attack (or 4 if you're running with hench and are REALLY unlucky ><) Once he closes to melee range he's no problem.

Man, I am having so much trouble trying to Vanquish the Charr lands H/H on my Mesmer. Pretty much any Charr group with 2 Flameshielders own me. That one group with the 2 Prophets, Dominator, 2 Flameshielders, Avenger, and Axe Fiends never fails to destroy me. I'm not taking any consumables, trying to do this au natural, for the most part.
Any particular hero builds, or specific skills I could take to counter these groups? I've tried Ebon Battle Standard of Courage, but the additional armor doesn't seem to negate much damage, not to mention it kinda requires the group to stay bunched while the nukes rip us apart. I bring Zho along for the Daze, but it's just not enough, and trying to interrupt multiple monks and eles is just too much without it.
Hmm... maybe maelstrom? I dunno, just getting a little aggravated with this area, any help would be awesome.

The extreme thing to bring might be Ward Against Harm, although Ward Against Elements might be a better choice.
I reckon Maelstrom pisses me off so much, it should work on mobs too. Cry of Frustration too, while you're at it.

Don't stay in the nukes - multiple meteor showers + firestorms are just too damaging, so wards are only semi useful here. You have to prepare for each battle by fanning your team out, and you should keep an eye on whether any are taking huge damage (indicating their standing in AoE), and if so move them out. It really helps to have something to take the initial aggro (and spells), but the AI is bad at this. Minions are okay for this some of the time, but unreliable. If you just want to get the areas done though, I suggest you go as Ursan tank - you should make short work of all Charr mobs in these areas if you close to melee range and let aggro lock on you before unflagging your heroes to run in. Your timing has to be pretty good though to ensure your monks can heal / prot you before you die. Use sweets to help if you don't consider it cheating. Use terrain to help wherever you can.
As a general rule, take hard ressers down first (yes, before monks). That means dominators / avengers. I spam Pain Inverter around flameshielders and warders (they use deep freeze) as it becomes available, and consider prioritising these guys before the monk too (if there is only one). If there is two, you'll have to jump them straight after the hard ressers. The most damaging Charr against a bunched team are the rangers - ignite arrow spam will tear you to pieces, and cannot be neutralised by blinding. Absolutely no question on these, you HAVE to fan out against these.

Great pointers, bifter. I do have a hard time with fanning out the heroes when H/H'ing mainly because of those four henchmen that don't have flags, so I tend to not bother with it. I will often flag all of them to a different spot when we start getting bombarded, but that only helps a little, and not at all against the rangers with ignite, since they are still bunched.
I did start out with targeting the Dominators and Avengers to take them out quickly, but actually found that taking out the Flameshielders first, and interrupting the resses was a little easier for my Mesmer. Even with HM speed buff and fast casting, the res still takes about 2 seconds, so it's pretty easy to interrupt... except maybe that group with both a Dominator and Avenger...
I think I might go Pain Inverter, though, using Minions as bait for the nukes, good idea. And I definitely want to avoid Ursan, just not my style.
Also, Searing Flames + Rodgort's Invocation Ele hero works really well through these areas on NM, but I haven't tried it in HM, yet. Suppose it might be worth it, even against Charr?

I wouldn't take a single SF - you just can't reliably keep up burning enough to make the damage worth the energy cost (especially as Charr use extinguish). I prefer condition or AoE builds as ele (at least in HM), but if you really wanted to take a fire build I'd probably go for mind blast / rodgorts / searing flames / liquid flame. I think I vanquished Dalada with an air condition build, and Grothmar as Ursan (the shame...)

I would, but sadly I'm referring to hero's builds, and they don't really use Mind Blast all that well. Surprisingly, Searing with Rodgort's actually work pretty well on a single nuker, since they tend to use Rodgort's as the starter fire and follow it up with SF and GG.

On Gothmar, do the primary quest there, and when you rezone after the quest, the char camp will be empty, thus eliminating that worry.

I did grothmar with one other. I was a SF ele, he was a paragon. I believe he had sab's 3 necro build and I brought another SF ele and 2 monks. The large group of burning shot charr rangers were the toughest for us - they spiked fast. But after them, the rest was fairly easy.
