Elite Skills

Ugh, is the only way to get an elite skill by capping it from the boss that holds it? I want to get searing flames but I have yet to play my ele through nightfall. I tend to my a new character per campaign and take them through it. Maybe I can get my derv to have a secondary ele profession and cap the skill with him!? But then I still can't give it to my ele huh?

Alternative is to get a elite tome.

SF isn't that far into Nightfall.

If you really don't want to play your ele through NF first, you can get your derv to cap it as a D/E. Then you can buy an elite elementalist tome to use on your ele. But I'd recommend just playing through it on your ele since SF is actually the first fire elite you can cap in NF.

Or unlock it with Balth faction and then get an elite tome.

^^^ that is one of the best/easiest ways to get an elite skill. ALthough costly, if you are far away from the required boss, it will definitely be easier to get the skill. I used one on my necro to get Aura of the Lich, since i would have to go all the way to hell's principate to get it and he was only in drok's forge.... quite a LONG run >_<

Well it seems as if I am going to have to work my way through Nightfall with my ele character. I don't have any elite tomes or know where to acquire them so I'll just do it this way I suppose. It'll take awhile because I've only done 1 primary quest on nightfall with that char. Haha, atleast it gives me something to do. Thanks for the replies.

Elite Tome

Give the wiki(s) a tour to give you more details, as they have come a long way since their advent.

Elite tomes can be farmed in hard mode(in chests or by killing bosses or just rare drops). Most commonly they can be bought, im not sure how much ele tomes are, but they are prob. around 10k and if ur that far back, id suggest it, if you have that much money.
