Once you get a pet to Dire will it stay Dire for good?

Just curious, I got a pet yesterday and leveled it to dire before I charmed it. Will the pet stay Dire for good no matter how many times it dies or will they revert to playful after so many deaths?

it will stay dire forever and ever. dire is a final form of a pet as is elder and the other one.

Yes that's right
I got a Dire Black Widow in UW and she'll never revert back to other forms
