whats a good team to run urgoz(non ursan)
magi of the light
so my guild needs a good non-ursan team build to do urgoz because we think ursan is to boring.
were arent looking for fast just completion( well under 3 and a half hours please).
so what we need is what proffesions to bring and how many of each and what builds they should run. ( you dont have to post the build here but just the essence of it....liek for example obby tank ot SH nuker,)
so yea thanks for the help in advanced

5 Splinter Barrage, Minion Master, Blood is Power, Spirit Spammer, 2 Elementalists, 2 Monks.
Minion master going /Mo for less pressure on monks.
That's what i remember anyway.

I don't know if it was urgoz or the deep but they did it with all mesmers using arcane echo and summon vanguard assassins to do most of their damage. Then domination magic to help some more.

You have to have Necrotic Transversal on 1 character so they can open the gate.

3monks 1 mm 1 ss rest eles

Lol, so many interesting ideas, but the tradional way was using ranger traps. You can also attempt it with Sab's hero builds plus a heavy duty tank upfront, and 2 solid nukers at the back.

If somebody is doing Urgoz run, let me know! I want that hom-statue

1 Splinter Barrage
3 Trappers
2 Monks or Healers
1 MM
1 SS or SV
1 Spirit Spammer
1 Tank
2 Nukers (SH works well)
i use this in the fallowing way.
trappers have trap doors and tight areas, spirit spammer puts a wall of spirits up behind traps. Tank can stay with spirits, splinter barrage or tank can go out and lure and then pull back to traps, this is effective because the traps rip through large mobs with huge damage. if there are any survivors nukers take care of it, and the SS or SV attacks survivors.
realy easy to use

twas Urgoz, they used all players with Ebon Assassin, lots of mesmer hexes and cry of pain. Apparently it was a cakewalk.
Id love to give it a go.

The groups I see doing Urgoz are usually B/P groups. 4 b/p rangers, 3 SF eles (4 if not taking the backup EoE ranger), 1 rit lord, 2 monks and a bip with either an SS or MM.

Our Guild used the following team, finished usally just over an hour
1 Lure sin (Shadow form, arcane echo)
2 Monks
1 Rit (Spirit Wall)
1 Bip(1hp)
1 ranger (EoE)
6 Eles (SH)
Credit has to go to our sin, Warlord Lord,
who made the team what it is

a dual vanguard assassin build sounds fun like hell though it might be very similar to playing ursan.
With secondarys free to chose it might work anywhere. has someone tried this in the domain of anguish yet?

well Ursan is effective whether u r R2 Norn or R10 Norn.
The Ebon vanguard assassin is not as effective for R1 Vanguard rank due to the lower level summon and shorter time duration unless u use maxed signet of illusions. Hexes are also needed to complement the assassins

Also, Urgoz Ursan Runs are not that much faster than average nuker runs.
If you are looking for a good Urgoz non-Ursan team... go with the same SF team build that people have been using forever. It works and it is reliable. Also, utilize consumables because it definitely shortens the run.

In NM you can use just about any standard type tank/ele build with nothing overly fancy-me and a couple friends got to the 3rd room with just random heroes but found we couldn't go any further due to non of us having NC (or CC).
The Splinter Barrage/SF builds put forth so far can do the trick in NM fairly easily, but I've had terrible luck with it in HM-although it can be done-takes a while and can be frustrating however. Then again for HM I've always PuG'ed and that's always a hazardous thing.
But when you get to Urgoz, the easy way to take him down is with Edge of Extinction (just have one of your rangers max out BM with a sup rune). You place EoE by the stairs in Urgoz's chamber, close enough so he's affected by it, but far enough back that it's not hit by the exploding plant creatures he summons. Then you have everyone run around, and everytime one of those plant creatures explodes, Urgoz is hit with damage. Takes a while, but it works.
