switching campaigns?

Hi, a while ago I took my prophecy character and I used it in Factions. I now want to go back to the prophecy campaign with that same character. I want to explore what I was missing but I can't find a way to return. I've read somewhere that I need to talk to a guard but when I talk to him, he doesn't offer me a quest leading back to the prophecy's area.

Can anyone shed some light on this.
